  1. There is certainly lots of evidence to back you up on this but try to keep in mind that there are still some good people in politics. It’s our job to find them and get out and support them. Call out their bs no matter what party label they wear. Force your party of choice to select decent candidates and hold them accountable. I agree it’s a really tough task but we can’t give up. Kind of like being Canuck fans.
  2. Not directly related to this topic but about dealing with trade, sanctions, etc. with China. US and allies to build 'China-free' tech supply chain Exclusive: Biden to sign presidential order to bolster chip, battery and rare-earth industries https://asia.nikkei.com/Politics/International-relations/US-and-allies-to-build-China-free-tech-supply-chain
  3. Would I vote to throw the borders wide open and take all Uighurs or any other group of refugees in? No but certainly we should coordinate with other nations to do our part. However I would not turn away any that made it to our shores. Canada, until more recently, does not have a very proud history in this regard. The MS St. Louis and Komogata Maru are two very shameful examples. So to answer your question I would vote a qualified yes.
  4. I saw Bob Seger at the Pacific Coliseum in the late 70’s?? Still one of my favourite concerts to this day!
  5. Reminds me of Brent Butt on 1040 talking about getting a rectal exam....”I didn’t mind it at first but it was like he was trying to get the last pickle out of the jar.”
  6. Rooster’s tough. You cut off his head and he’d strut around for 2 minutes before he realized he’s dead.
  7. Forbort better keep his head up tonight. Hoggy will be looking for a piece of him again. I’m going to enjoy that!
  8. In general this is true but I have had my opinion altered a few times by posters on this forum. I had strong feelings regarding vaccinating inmates but after reading opinions (I believe it might have been @Jimmy McGill and @PhillipBlunt) I realized my objections were way overblown. Reading the article that @Kryten provided reminded me that this is a serious issue although like @gurn I didn’t read it as left/right. I like to believe that our minds are still a little bit open.
  9. I’m not sure that anyone is debating that people who work hard and manage their finances well don’t deserve what they have they have. If you make it by your hard work and innovation, fine more power to you. Amassing a fortune by by paying ridiculously low wages or hiring children and pretending that you are “teaching them a trade” is not. Paying employees an unliveable wage is not. If you think the business practices of someone like Martin Shkreli (contrary to popular opinion on these boards, this is the most punchable face not Matt Tkachuk) are okay then I guesss we’ll never agree. I don’t want to put words in your mouth but surely you don’t believe that the world should be controlled by the very few of the wealthiest people.
