I think this fits the topic… We were in our rv at a very remote Provincial campground and it would not start - completely dead. Ironically it was booked in for service at a Ford dealership in Burnaby for that very day. I phoned to let them know we wouldn’t be able to make our appointment but they were closed for a Covid outbreak and there was only an emergency number. I called the number to ask if we could have it towed to their location for when they re-opened as we had nowhere else to take it to that day. The lady I talked to said “absolutely not and by the way we don’t service rvs.” I said that that was strange as we already had an appointment and had had it in there twice previously for service. I was told categorically that was untrue so I gave her the service technician’s name that we always dealt with. She told us that she wasn’t interested in having his name since she would know because she was the service manager. First and only time I’ve been told that I was lying about having an appointment booked and that they had never serviced the vehicle. I felt like slapping her upside the head with my past receipts! Found the dealership in Langley who went out of their way to get it in and when I went to pay (new battery and new starter) they told me that it was still covered under warranty so no charge. What a difference!

Here’s two for you that couldn’t be more different. The first was one that started my love of psychedelic rock and the second…well that’s for my dad.

The reason you will see laugh emojis or the ones that used to be available for posts like this is that most of us have had these ivermectin/dewormer/bleach/urine drinking discussions ad nauseum. Personally as long as you’re vaccinated and advise others to get vaccinated I could care less how you self-medicate at home. I’m not the least bit interested in debating the topic anymore. (Grateful to those that keep up the good fight though!) The “hide in your basement” or “sleep with your N95 mask” comments always seem to be the parting shot at people who care enough about others and want to keep hospital and ICU numbers down to help keep health care workers from being totally overwhelmed. When these numbers are manageable and others are getting timely urgent care they need restrictions should be lifted.

The city of Ottawa refuses the application for a peaceful counter protest from a group of the city’s citizens on Saturday. I can only assume the city did the same for the organizers of the Freedom Convoy. As permits are not actually needed the group is continuing with their plans. We’ll see what becomes of this but I know if this was in my city I would be there. Note: They are specifically asking people not to donate but for those who insist please give to the Terry Fox Foundation or to The Shepherds of Good Hope.
