Had no idea who Kodak Black is until now. His friend seems smart though and she really, really seems to like coming to hockey games. -
Private insurance like travel, life, etc has always cost more for smokers so it’s not like there isn’t already a precedent for it.

This from Global News BC last night. Note that this little girl has already lost one kidney to this disease. Her “non-urgent” surgery has been cancelled. Please don’t anyone try to tell me that an anti-vaxxer is more important. https://globalnews.ca/news/8502090/bc-girl-surgery-delayed-pandemic/

The immunization record of all school aged children is now required to be registered with Public Health as of 2019. I have never received a flu shot as I haven’t had the flu in almost 50 years and I don’t visit anyone in care homes. I would of course get it if necessary.

Who could have imagined how profoundly the internet would change the world - for good and ill? When we were told about the wealth of knowledge that would be at our fingertips we just assumed it would make for a better world.

Anti-vaxxer, Christopher Key, who calls himself the 'vaccine police' is in the news again for suggesting a rather 'gross' cure for COVID. Key urged his anti-vaxxers followers to 'drink their own urine' to cure COVID. "The antidote that we have seen now, and we have tons and tons of research, is urine therapy," he said in a video that has gone viral on Twitter. I’m just gonna say right now if this becomes a thing I’m not going to bother trying to talk anyone out of it.

9 goals + 13 assists

Aside from the fake vaccine card and suspension, aside from whatever Covid rules he is supposed to have broken and aside from the fact you would expect him to be on his best behaviour after the turmoil and baggage that he brings wherever he goes…I guess it’s OK that he is above a silly thing like team rules. As per Elliotte Friedman the Sharks say he was supposed to report to the Barracuda on Dec 31 but only came back on Jan 6. If true, what’s a week late for a guy that’s got stuff to do.

I can’t speak for DeAngelo now but Wilson and Marchand’s teammates want them on their teams. At least three teams decided they’d rather play against Kane than with him.

Yeah it was oxycontin or something like that but that’s sort of the point. Even though Richards was charged with it LA still decided to settle with him rather than chancing it with an arbitrator. I’m not suggesting SJ doesn’t have a strong case (who really knows yet) but they might not want to risk getting stuck with the whole contract. I’ve got mixed feelings about it - love to see SJ taking the hit, hate to see EK getting money for nothing (and his chicks for free), mostly feel bad for his daughter.
-
That’s right, they settled before arbitration IIRC. The Sharks aren’t free and clear of Kane yet and I wouldn’t be surprised if something similar happens here. It will depend on how confident SJ is that they can convince an arbitrator that it was a material breach of the player’s contract.

This part is not accurate according to studies.

I don’t know if this is true but the nutbars are telling each other to smear the inside of their nostrils with Vaseline 5 minutes before getting tested. I guess it’s more important to do what you want even if you’re infected. Who gives a crap about who you come in contact with.

OK @SilentSam you’re up.

Most of what I am reading is that herd immunity is probably not possible anymore and the new thinking is “a path to normality.” This article from the National Post from November ’21 talks about it without even mentioning Omicron. It seems our best hope might be a combination of high vaccination rates with successful antiviral drugs that keep most people out of hospitals, coupled with masks, ventilation, etc. https://nationalpost.com/health/why-ideal-herd-immunity-for-covid-19-is-likely-impossible-but-attempting-to-get-there-still-matters

Could it be time to raise the seawall?
