What's concerning about a trade is you know damn well PA will focus getting some young 20 year old bum instead of futures. Watch him think that mole face kotkenemi or however you spell it is the play. I would throw the towel in honestly lmao -

The mistake would be signing another guy to a contract you cannot move. 8 till 35+. When has that ever looked good for us? How will this team improve retaining everyone till they are valueless? -

Canes. They must give up crazy value. Morrow + 1st minimum. Keep in mind their fanbase views Morrow as untouchable. But they also have to go "All in" reaaaal soon if they want a cup or two -

Yeah of course. Turning any term into less should be the goal. We are wasting cap till 24/25 season just letting things end naturally. I feel it best to utilize this downtime to build up the organizational depth as much as possible before we ascend. The sample size is long enough to show this group is not worth investing in anymore. Alot of good pieces but it just does not work here. We all know a small percentage actually pan out, But at the very least we are adding valuable assets to the club. They make the team, or they are trade bait for higher end player to complement our core during that 24' off season. It also fits the 2/3 year timeline JR talked about when joining us -

I dont mind that severson trade, But i flip him at the TDL. I want to move out those guys was well. We all know our cap situation is bunk till the 24' offseason. In that timeframe I'd much rather focus adding to the future of this team rather then focusing on the now when we are in no man's land as it is. I would be moving out nearly anyone with good value for 23' / 24' picks + ready now prospects. Focusing big on creating cap space without spending futures to do so. Followed by using that capspace to take on cap dumps + picks. ( any term must end by 24' off season ) If we can be creative enough to just scrap the pieces around EP and Hughes, We can still fix this in a 2 year span. Could have upwards of 6 picks in the first 2 rounds this year and possibly another 4+ next year if we just commit to moving our guys who have value. I just see no point in adding severson while we are at the bottom with nearly nothing in the pipeline to keep the additions and Improvements going -

Guess I should have added an emoji! Was just joking lol. But no severson. We need to stop being a bottom feeder with a nothing prospect pool while making contender like signings. This doesn't help our present or future. The sample size is soooo big we shouldn't even be having this type of debate about these types of signings / trades -

You're cut off from the internet today sir. You are really going to try and suggest we should be adding more middling talent on 7 year deals deep into their 30s. That is what we call pulling a Jim Benning around these parts -

Nope. Not to mention if they can't mentally overcome blowing a lead in a single game. They won't have the mental capacity to overcome adversity during multiple playoffs runs and a shot at a cup. Core has good players but the worst mix of play styles and chemistry -

Lmfao dude the Devils team defensive stats are top of the league. How did that go when we plucked a pure defensive Dickinson off a top defensive team again? Same story yet at 4x the cap hit and term lol. After the last 10 years there is no way people are STILL looking at adding more guys on retirement deals. This is insane to me lmao -

Boston gave up 14 in the 3rd. But that's probably because they came out swinging and toned it down to 35% as the game wore on haha! -

No severson. Stop suggesting myers 2.0! The man got scratched during the Devils current Win streak. If he's a bum on a current top team... What does that tell ya once he joins us on yet another long term retirement deal that we cannot move! Also before anyone suggests it also... No to Paryako. Blues fans HATE him. He's been their version of Myers and he's still got 8 years lmao. Its time we evolve from these type of guys vet support pieces don't fit a team that needs to fix literally everything -
