  1. JT Miller doesn’t need a coach to motivate him, he needs to pull his head out of his .@$$ so he can see where the puck should go.
  2. So what is the deal here? Is it only the coaching and management when we lose? Is it only the players when we win? Cause I’m confused. If you ask me, you can’t coach a player to not throw a puck up ice tape to tape to the other team. “Hey everyone, listen up, when you have the puck, keep it and go to the other of the ice. Only pass it to the guys who are wearing the same stuff as you” /coaching. Thanks coach Green. edit: You’re welcome Jake.
  3. It would be the most Canucks thing ever to win the Cup during a pandemic. Hockey god are like, “let’s finally give them the cup, it’s not like they can celebrate.”
  4. Is it really the coach most of the time? Cause I didn’t see a huge turnaround from AV to Torts to WD to Green. TG should be getting equal or even more credit for building this young core. From Utica to the now, he hasn’t had an easy task. I’m actually shocked that people can’t see the progress he has made with this team. Ask the last 10 Oiler coaches how easy it is to do what he has done. This isn’t football where there are specific set plays that need to be executed to perfection while the coach is directly responsible for selecting each play. This is hockey man. There are what? 3-4 different styles a team can play? Then within those styles how many different ways can you play in the O and D zone? The system part of hockey is pretty generic around the league. The best teams in the league aren’t the ones with the most radically different and innovative systems, they are the teams with the best players. That’s it. This teams main defensive struggles come from turning the puck over. How the hell do you coach a seasoned D man to not turn the puck over? Do you think when Myers throws it up the middle tape to tape to Connor McDavid he is “like $&&@ Coaching staff” no I’m pretty sure he blames himself. It’s time to start holding players accountable. Travis Green is doing the best he can do with what he has.
  5. His neck is so long that his birthday should’ve been yesterday.
  6. Demko isn’t even close to his prime in goalie standards. He could easily be our franchise player here in a few years. Yes, bigger than EP.
  7. Demko repeatedly shot down this assumption during the playoffs last year. He was annoyed by everyone worrying about a workload or the amount of shots he faced. I think it’s overblown. I’d have that stud back in the net to humble the Canadians. Watch Demko become a bigger star than EP.
  8. “Fire the coach” is one of the best ways to evaluate a spectator’s hockey aptitude or lack thereof.
  9. What are you going to trade him for? Lol. You can get the same player, 3 years younger on an ELC for nothing.
  10. JV reminds me a lot of how the fanbase handled Zack Kassian. We all had such high expectations that just never came. Later found out that he was a raging alcoholic but maybe JV has some hidden explanation as to why he can’t seem to grab another gear.
  11. If you have an entire team of gorillas you run into some issues. They struggle more against hot goaltending. They fire a lot of pucks toward the net but they lack the offensive creativity and finish to beat a goalie who is possessed. Gorillas also fatigue easier. Crashing and banging and running a muck isn’t sustainable for 60 mins a game and 4 series. It sounds cliche and ridiculously obvious but you need a balance of Gorillas and Gazelles.
  12. Hard teams need hard players bro. AV didn’t have heavy forwards, Travis green doesn’t have an abundance of heavy forwards either. How are you going to coach EP or the Sedins into playing that style? It doesn’t work. You need the players in order to play that style. The style you coach needs to fit the players. Look at MacEwen for an example. Green isn’t coaching that gorilla to be a softy, he lets him play to his strengths. I don’t think Horvat is a softy, he drives hard to the net, plays hard along the boards. If you want a “harder” team, then start complaining about who we are drafting and acquiring. You can’t train a Corgi to be a German Shepard.
  13. I can’t believe how fast he keeps his little feet moving. Any faster and they’d disappear like a hummingbirds wings
  14. I watched him play a few times for the Hitmen. Honestly he was one of the most dominant players that I’ve seen live. He was just so much faster and stronger than everyone else. I screamed with joy when we picked him. I never saw that player again. He never regained that dominance. In hindsight that shoulder surgery probably broke his upward trend and he never regained it. I think being at home isn’t necessarily a good thing either. Sometimes I wonder if the best thing for Jake’s career would be to get away from his friends and family and start over fresh someplace else. It’s just not working here. It sucks because I was so excited when we drafted him.
  15. There is no bigger weapon in the NHL than Cap. Stop signing 28 year olds to 4-6 year contracts and target the 21-25 year old RFA’s by exploiting rival GM’s cap issues. That’s how he got Miller and Schmidt. That’s more of what I’d like to see. UFA’s are so 90’s. Quit living in the 90’s Jim.
  16. This is pretty much what most people have hoped for over the last few seasons but it never materializes. History usually repeats itself so it’s hard to assume he won’t just sign more UFA’s as soon as he gets the cap space. It’s what he has done every single year. Why would he stop now?
  17. I grew up a die hard Jets fan, my room was covered in Jets swag. When they left for Phx I swapped over to the Canucks completely cause they had grown on me during the 94 run. When the Jets came back I felt like Helen Hunt did when Tom Hanks came back in Castaway. There are still residual feelings I repress but I moved on. Go Canucks.
  18. How many left shots y’all want on the point? Playing RHD doesn’t mean you can shoot right my dude. This concern doesn’t really get any more legitimate it’s probably the most legitimate concern I’ve ever seen.
