  1. TBH it's not the toughest road trip. If we don't come back at .500 or over I'll be hugely disappointed
  2. It's okay it's just pre-season. Just a way of crushing our hopes and dreams for another year......
  3. Where was all that effort for the previous 57 minutes? The scoreline flatters them.
  4. We're losing every puck battle. The coilers are coasting to victory without even having to break sweat, I'm starting to feel nervous for the upcoming season.
  5. They've put their 3rd string goalie in and we haven't even troubled him yet. There needs to be a serious increase in effort in the third.
  6. That's the problem with Hughes, tries to do too much. Could be another -24 this season.
  7. Considering we played a quarter of the game with 4 players I suppose it could have been worse.
  8. We're getting lots of shots but very few grade A chances. Grubauer is on his game, but sadly Demko isn't tonight. We've had lots of PP's but they haven't looked like scoring, that's why we need Chaisson in the lineup. He does one thing that nobody else seems to want to do - get in front of the goalie and block his sight lines, right now PG's stopping everything he sees.
  9. I don't think the comparison to Jordan is very fair. The top NBA players can average 35 to 40 minutes of court time (out of 48). Basically one man can win the game for the team if he is good enough. Jordan was one, Shaq., Kobe, LeBron all won wherever they played. Maybe if Mackinnon could skate for 45 minutes each game he might be winning stuff too.
  10. You've done the right thing Micheal. Much as I would love to see you in a Canucks uniform again you have other priorities. I've had a concussion and it is scary, constant headaches, unable to sleep, unable to remember stuff. Go live the rest of your life with your lovely family.
  11. Yes exactly. Right now there is not much to fear for any offensive player coming into our D zone. We need to change that so that the opposition know they are going to have to pay a price. Edler always played a hard game but he's way too slow now. Hamonic is feisty, but we need at least one more big body
  12. We have mostly small mobile defencemen and no discernible defensive structure. Has anyone else seen a team with those qualities in the playoffs?
  13. Habs D is looking thin on the ground without Petry. Chiarot and Weber playing huge minutes, but the others are making a lot of mistakes. The whole team looked sluggish in the second period, and being on the PK doesn't help. If they can't find another gear in the third they're toast.
  14. Looks like the Jets are in need of a rebuild too. Ehlers - Pathetic Dubois - Useless Wheeler - Invisible Connor - missing in action the list goes on........
  15. How are the Jets still in this? I haven't seen a team so badly outshot since we played Vegas last year. It's only Halibut keeping them in the game.
  16. Could it be that Baumer's got himself a part-time job with the Jets as their defensive coach? They seem to be playing similar tactics to ours.
  17. Well that was a playoff game with a very low excitement level. The Jets did very little until the last 4 minutes, but by that time Price was seeing the puck like it was a beach ball. Unless Dubois can produce something special in the next two games it looks like Tortorella was right to dump him.
  18. The Thrashers seem short of ideas, it's almost too easy for the Habs D. 2 or 3 touches and the puck is straight out of the zone. If it carries on like this in the third Montreal will be happy to win it 1-0
  19. Wow, Varlarmov is the first star of this game by a country mile. Stopped so many of the Bruins grade A chances. Now his team could sneak it in OT. In my fantasy ending I see Matt Martin hitting Brad Marchand who smashes the glass with his face and is awarded a game misconduct for wilful damage to the arena. Tukka Rask then accidentally turns the puck into his own net.
