For the Vegas expansion, it was pro games that counted, and that included AHL games. The league said they are using the same rules as Vegas, so the AHL should still count, unless the league explicitly stated otherwise.

Unless they changed the rules, then they are eligible. They can also easily be signed, so that isn't even an issue.

Reading this thread, it amazing how out to lunch some of you are. Myers has been a good player for us, so don't whine and cry like losers when we rightfully protect him. Also, Sautner, Brisebois, Rafferty and Chatfield are all eligible for the draft. At least one of them will be re-signed for cheap to be to be expansion fodder. No need to re-sign Benn. Brisebois is an RFA, so he only needs to be qualified, not signed, to be eligible. This is just like the Vegas expansion, people.
