    Everyone underperformed, not just Schmidt. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong for us. With everything that happened, Schmidt easily deserves the benefit of the doubt.

    The first real test for the scabs. This will be the first team they face where they are pretty much a complete team. Tampa matches or exceeds Montreal in every area. Tampa matches their goaltending, they match their defense lead by Hedman, and their forwards are easily better than Montreal's.     The North division is still trash. Montreal getting this far doesn't change that. Their advantage is that they were built for the playoffs, plus they have an elite goalie in Price. Loserpeg, soilers and the laffs are soft as hell and would have been destroyed by Vegas because they don't have the makeup to shutdown Vegas like Montreal did.
