  1. 22 year old isn't a PK god, it's over, trade him for a 3rd rounder and cry like a baby when he wins his first Norris I guess. 22 year old. PPG d-man. Improving his defensive game every year. Already proven in the playoffs. But yeah, you're right, because he's not Pronger in his own zone at age 22 he's never going to do anything in this league.
  2. You know Canucks fans aren't the only people who think Hughes is the most solid part about this team right? Do you think everyone else in the world is stupid and you just know hockey better, that Hughes isn't the most valuable young defenseman in the league? Will you be raging at the management for trading him after he wins multiple norris trophies and cups for other teams? Probably.
  3. I mean, big Canadian media never used the word "mass graves" when talking about the unmarked graves, people brought their own ideas and misconceptions into it along with foreign media using the phrase "mass graves," but I think 99% of Canadians who care enough know that these weren't "mass graves." That's ignoring all of the other, uh, talking points the group had. Usually groups like this put some amount of sanity in their little spiels to try to get you to listen.
  4. https://www.scmp.com/news/people-culture/environment/article/3155845/coronavirus-china-killing-pets-covid-19-patients Really hope some people who praise China's response to COVID will understand what this kind of government beholden to absolutely no one is really looking for with this "zero covid policy," a claim at superiority and legitimacy for their authority, they care nothing about the people.
  5. Seems like he's from a new age of players where screaming at them to play better while insulting them doesn't work. Pettersson looks seriously depressed from his face, he used to be happy on the ice. I think letting Tanev go messed with the team's chemistry in ways we can't begin to understand.
  6. If Canucks fans turn on Hughes we deserve to never win a cup. Literally the generational defenseman we've always wanted and now he's getting $&!# when he's still playing like a Norris candidate. Ridiculous.
  7. Almost certainly I'd say. Vigilante justice is a concept that can be really attractive as a youth, but the real world experience around such acts quickly helps people realize how a civil society cannot allow people to "take the law into their own hands." Rittenhouse is more of a symptom of the real problem imo, some Americans (and Canadians influenced by them) still have an immature view on vigilantism and glorify it.
  8. Legal precedence is so important, why can't some people grasp that? This is a lot bigger than just the kid and him being a lunatic and an idiot. That will 100% be legal, maybe without the directly threatening your kids part, and groups like the proud boys and the dreaded antifa will be able to freely walk around with heavy weaponry looking for people to murder in their homes by getting them to react to their divisive garbage.
  9. I'm gonna stand outside your property with a rifle and aim it at your children. When you try to do something about it I'll shoot you in self defense.
  10. I feel like people arguing for Rittenhouse are missing some key details. No one else died in a week of protests. This guy comes with a gun to "protect" things no one asked him to and the only 2 deaths happen as a result and the only hospitalization of a civilian. It's absolutely bonkers to me anyone can defend this guy from "maniac" or "psycho" monikers. If he didn't come to the protest with a huge visible rifle and combat gear, there is NO WAY he would have died as other people imply. He is the sole reason people died in over a week of protests, think about that. The "violent rioters" he went to protect businesses from managed to have a week of demonstrations without anyone dying until the unwanted protection came in and murdered 2 people. People keep arguing fringe details like, oh he was scared of X, someone else had a gun, if Y happened what was he supposed to do? This was all his &^@#ing fault from the start. He should have stayed at home and watched TV, instead he acted like a &^@#ing lunatic and shot 2 people dead for no reason. Defending "businesses" by shooting their customers and family members as an out of town crazy who thinks the commies are taking over 'murica. What a joke, get over yourselves, no one is attacking your right to defend your family and friends, this guy wanted to shoot "leftists antifa" or whatever enemy exists in his head.
  11. Since the topic is proud boys. I'm sure there's some good intentions in there but I'm equally sure the overall effects of this organization, radicalization and hatred. Maybe their overall message isn't pro-white anti-minority, just anti-left wing, and they'll take anyone they can to help deflect the criticism that comes from housing a lot of white supremacists.
  12. People can make the "OK" hand gesture all they want without being cancelled. However, you can't play dumb when you're doing it as a dog whistle, because the benefit of the doubt isn't an automatic thing you're going to get when hanging out with people wearing "pinochet did nothing wrong" t-shirts. The swastika was made by my culture and stolen by a certain Austrian man, now westerners equate it with something else. Symbols change meaning and mean different things to different people.
  13. It's just basic logic my friend. Why has this OK sign had a huge resurgence recently? What types of people are doing this hand sign? Think about it.
  14. We're really doing this "I have a black friend" routine? The whole OK sign thing is a joke they like, of course when the wrong person asks it's just a meaninglessness hand sign they use in groups with their predominantly white friend groups. This just plays into the plausible deniabilty $&!# neo nazis operate around. Designed to protect them as they spread their message.
  15. Crying under stress and for self preservation that will be used as proof of his "regret" which will let him off scott free. We've seen this happen with white boys over and over again. The only semblance of comfort I get is that American prisons would just make him more racist and violent, so maybe society will end up better off that he gets to go home and eat moms tendies.
  16. He's a maniac. Normal people don't see a target on fire and think "lemme take my gun into the city to protect the small businesses." People need to stop giving excuses for emboldened crazies.
  17. Gotta disagree with this. Our fans are fine if they have something to cheer for. It's hard to cheer when your teams just phoning it in. Plus the atmosphere at the arena is actually great, everyone is extra friendly and happy just because they're finally able to have a night out at the game again, and there's still plenty of rowdy boys around ready to tell the other team whats up. I'd go to a game if you can even if the on ice product is crap, still a good time. The price of beer is a rip off though.
  18. Was at the game and the few times Boeser was on the ice in the third he was playing in a completely refreshing way compared to ther est of the team. He actually skated with the puck and gained the zone. The few flashes of offense were off of rushes like this, until we started to just dump the puck and pass pass pass. Players won't play for a coach they think is stupid. Goalies don't even react to half the passes made in the offensive zone because they know they're not going to shoot. Everyone can see Green doesn't have a decent handle on the modern NHL game and is stifling this team's talent. This is a league where the best goal scorer of all time consistently ignored coaching orders in his early career to stay on the ice and score goals. Players are too good to be told how to play when it's been obvious for a while the coaches don't know what they're doing. The players see what other teams are doing better than us fans can, they are going to be the first ones to call foul if some old man who wouldn't last a second in the modern NHL in his prime is forcing the team to play in an obsolete way.
  19. Our 5 on 5 is undoubtedly better than the PP though, which should tell you how bad our PP is. Maybe one real chance all game for the special teams, we had the puck more on the PK.
  20. It's a sad state of affairs when an Eastern conference team has a better understanding of our arena than our multi year coaching staff.
  21. At this point you could just not have a head coach like the old days and have Bo run the lines and we'd do better.
  22. I agree Benning did well as far as player movements go but Green still being here is on him too.
  23. Regardless, middle season coaching changes can turn a sub-par team into a solid contender and it's been shown to work in the past in these kind of situations. The players wanting to play for you is a big thing, and firing a bad coach can be like taking off shackles for some players. If they waste the whole season I'm going to be upset.
  24. Gotta say Halak was as solid as Jones too, but just look at the difference in special teams, it lost the Canucks the game.
