  1. We’re a playoff team next year too hronek is a huge add healthy mikheyev and demko make a big difference too let’s see what else the chipmunks pull off
  2. QMJHL is an absurdly high scoring league though, CGs junior performance really wasn’t that impressive - and he was a 5th as a result. Watch a good chunk of Benson tape and I think you’ll agree with me he looks like a special player
  3. Dvorsky worries me because he’s safe but I just don’t see the offence. I know he’s young but he just strikes me as a guy that’ll end up being a good 3rd liner. lots of good tools, all round good player but I don’t wanna waste the 1st on a guy that is less gifted offensively than some of the other choices. agreed on Perrault.
  4. I think at #11 you need to take the big risk big reward player If benson is there he’s probably the only chance of getting a 1st line player the other guys left over will be middle-6ers with a high floor but low ceiling at #11 you gotta take the guy with a few warts except two: don’t compromise on work ethic (or you get virtanen) and don’t compromise on hockey IQ. Get Benson into Abby for a couple years to beef up and work with our Abby skating coach. With his work ethic he’ll pick up his pace
  5. Benson has very very high hockey iq and creativity though strength and speed can both be improved. He’s not slow, just average. Very high work ethic and compete. if he improved his speed he’s got the skill set to be an 80 point guy and drive his line.
  6. Imagine being a team that has cap space right now. You could get Garland, a highly effective middle 6 player not for free, but you would get PAID PICKS to take him. Incredible.
  7. If that happens and we pass on Benson, I’m going to start a rumor that Allvin has chronic flatulence which impedes him from sound decision making
  8. There’s going to be a lot. There will be a player or two available to us that would go top-3 in any other draft benson might fall to us in which case we take him and run. cristall put up potential superstar points in the whl ASP has top defense pair potential too, and a RD Many good choices my friend
  9. We were never gonna finish near there demko coming back + we had a way easier schedule, look at the teams we beat at the end of the season, garbage bottom feeders most of them
  10. im of the opinion that we dont wanna draft size pick up big guys like schenn, gudas, etc etc. off ufa. high end skill is the most expensive thing and nearly impossible to acquire on the open market. Draft it and cost-control it for 3 years using ELC. Pick up the guys that have absurd amounts of skill and hockey IQ but theres a "knock" that old school GMs dont like Petey - too skinny, Caufield - too short, Jarvis - too small and skinny. Horvat- too slow. Guys will get bigger, stronger, and faster if they're committed. Pass on guys like Dvorsky/Reinbacher, etc. that display "nhl readiness" they'll most likely underperform their draft position
  11. this this guy will likely be available when our turn comes, and people are salty???
  12. imagine having to live in chicago though tbh thats so much worse
  13. Benson, Cristall, Reinbacher aren't lekerimaki and lekerimaki was a ppg in the playoffs, why are you so down on him?
  14. Not to rain on everyones pity party but theres a decent chance that a 40 GOAL SCORER will be available where we pick we were never going to rip a big enough fard for bedard, it was just not in the cards. Dont be scarred by this.
  15. Benson if he falls as some say If he doesnt: Cristall. "muhhhh undersized winger blah blah blah" dont care, guy is nearly 2ppg, will be a monster on peteys line in a couple yrs
  16. Some of you just couldn't wait to get rid of Stillman the tank was left without its top general what did you all think was going to happen myers is and always has been an agent of chaos, he lacks the military discipline required to command a tank sorry, if you cheered the loss of stillman, this is on you
  17. I watched a few games, I don't think I ever saw him out of position/beat/lazy backchecking. Defending seems to be his strength. I'm sure points will come too. I can see him being our 2C one day, and the line we put up against other teams best offensive weapons. Side note - im also incredibly impressed with Klimovich. I had sort of written him off at the start of the year but holy smokes. Kid is going to be a player.
  18. 0.5ppg is nothing to sneeze at, considering he played a depth role for both bridgeport and Abby I'm very excited to see what he does next year, and i hope he plays a bigger role
  19. My first try, WE'LL TAKE IT THANKS VERY MUCH GET ER DONE COMMISSIONER
  20. Yeah I wouldn’t be crying about this. much rather our management drafts bpa. big defenseman doesn’t mean good. Doubt very much Bichsel ends up a 1st pairing defender. JL has 1st line upside.
  21. If we manage to snag Benson I’ll renounce my lord and saviour Stillman Would be most optimal outcome of this draft, aside from winning lottery of course
  22. i agree with allvins plan the draft is where you go and try to secure a player that no team would ever trade you Benson, Michkov, Cristal, Pellika could all become core players. we should never be using our 1st to draft a guy that projects as a 3rd liner or a 2nd/3rd pair defenseman. we should be finding guys that have some kind of defect that can be improved upon- e.g. too skinny (petersson) awkward skater (raty) too small (caufield). theyre the ones who have a chance to become greater than thier draft projections.
