The two honestly aren’t even comparable Hronek is defensively sound and brings offense, meaning he can crush 22-25 mins/night if needed durzi is a defensive liability who needs sheltering in order to be his best completely different player and value profiles I liked ASP at the beginning but the more I watched him the more I think he would have been a wasted pick much happier with both Willander and Bruztewicz, neither of whom projects to being a powerplay specialist/defensive liability

Its nice that we already have our high skill offensive contributors to build around Hughes & Hronek All we need is to surround those guys with stable, physical, shutdown defensemen I like the Brustewicz pick A LOT. I had him as a 1st round talent. After getting over the Benson stuff, it feels to me that they just solidified their D-core for the next decade all in one draft. We should never have to overpay for a top-4 RD again, nor should we have to go into UFA and overpay for a bottom pair defenseman again (like Poolman and Myers)

How do we acquire Wallinder from Detroit? Seems very important to have both on the team

yeah its really rough lots of gaffes defensively and doesnt help at all offensively At least poolman was good defensively even if he had the puck handling skills of a piece of burnt toast

sounds like everything cooled off with burroughs/bear so theres something in the works, whether trade or ufas theyre gonna sign So curious what theyre gonna do for the right side the left side is where i can conceivably see a AHLer or young guy stepping in for the third pairing (wolanin or hirose seem like solid bets there) So maybe left side is: Hughes Cole (way better fit than OEL for us imo) Wolanin Cole would be good with Hronek, idk what we do for Hughes partner
