  1. Yup. I do feel like we have another shot at what we need to accomplish, by moving Horvat. I don't hate the 8 million dollar Miller contract, considering some of the absurd contracts other teams have given out, and that he's got a point per game average in all 4 years as a Canuck. Get him a defensively responsible winger, and he can go back to center. No more stupid cross ice passes if he's not playing on the wall. He's good on faceoffs too. With cap space, and Myers' contract falling off next year, we can make a serious play to rebuild the defense. We're a better team with a rebuilt D, even without Horvat.
  2. They signed darnell nurse to 9.25m/year, they will remain mid pack as long as they remain making benning caliber deals
  3. Lundkvist was flipped for a 1st to Dallas, and is getting 17.5 mins a night there., doing very well. Even if he wasnt a fit here, he would net us another 1st. so 2x 1sts + a middle-6 forward for JT.. not bad.
  4. If true, Lundkvist + a 1st + chytil was a very good return Blue chip prospect + 1st + young roster player
  5. Still can’t believe that Loui Eriksson is assisting on Filip Johansson goals in Frolunda
  6. All 3 brutally underperformed too though while they were here. Could have been salty
  7. Yup. I'm also not entirely sold on the idea that JT Miller was the wrong player to re-sign. Horvat would likely be more expensive to re-sign, and potentially bring in a bigger haul in trade. Miller at a point per game, if he can cut down on the giveaways (maybe back at center) is worth 8 million a year. Bo, regressing back to his usual point totals, is not worth 9m a season. We knew we were going to lose a forward (or multiple forwards) to shore up our Defence - whether in trade, or to create cap space for some UFA fishing. We also knew it was likely going to be a center, with Petey, Miller, and Bo all good centers. So many doomers right now.. lets just see how this all plays out.
  8. People need to stop with the doomer-takes. Literally the only reason Canuck fans say this is because they somehow believe the worst about our players vs others. Look what worse players got (as rentals) at the deadline last couple years. FAR worse players got a 1st and a top prospect… as a rental (Andrew Copp) Bo, if traded, even as a rental will bring in a haul. A lot of teams will see him as the piece that puts them over the edge. Especially if Vancouver retains on his contract.
  9. There are only two men worthy of being captain of this team. One has sadly left us for the greener pastures of Frolunda (may his life be filled with joy, and his empty nets filled with pucks) The other is the hero we deserve
  10. We’re on the same page for the first 3 I just have basically 0 faith in debrusk so if they wanna keep him, w/e Might not be a bad thing too to have miller moved to Center and one of our wingers getting some more ice time as a result
  11. Yea, not interested in debrusk. Carlo is fine but he’s also got concussion issues- there’s a reason Boston would rather part with him than forbort. Bidding needs to start somewhere like: 1. Carlo 2. 2023 1st 3. Good prospect
  12. I will forgive them if we get Jiricek in a 1 for 1 swap
  13. We needed the cap space for Virtanen and Pearson though!
  14. Ovi = Loui Most don’t realize how true of a comparison this is both changed the trajectory of a franchise forever both had some of the most memorable moments in the history of the nhl
  15. He could hit an empty net from anywhere though, with his eyes closed
  16. Kings receive lavish gifts from their subjects ive said it since the beginning, this is Loui’s world, we are all just living in it
  17. This is your daily reminder that we all bore witness to a piece of beautiful, incomparable, exquisite history: “Loui is an excellent two-way forward, an elite scorer and playmaker with great defensive instincts,” said General Manager Jim Benning. “He is an accomplished player who helps our team now and in the future as a leader and role model for our young players to follow. We’re excited to have Loui join our team and help us compete every night.”
  18. Hmm looks like I need to lay off the cinnamon schnapps not sure why I read it as 1m before!
  19. Agreed - waiting until the last possible minute is a bad strategy Detroit might end up doing the same with Larkin, need to get this done before Larkin is put on the market
  20. Might be a case of Bo wanting out This is his chance to get a windfall and play for a winning team I think he wants to go elsewhere, in which case, he saves us from our ownership
  21. 1m of dead cap is worth it if you have the space to acquire a good player for cheap b/c of another teams cap issues the cap will go up and when it does the 1m for an extra year or two will be negligible vs the benefit of securing a cheap asset id argue weaponizinf that cap space and taking on some bad contract for another 1st rounder is actually probably a good bet too when the cap goes up bigly it won’t be possible to weaponize cap space like that
  22. I think Boston is gonna be the partner to Boston: Horvat to Van: Carlo Mike Reilly (cap dump for them- very competent defenseman for us) 1st (has to be a 1st because they’ll be at the bottom of the draft) Our defence: Hughes-Carlo Reilly-Bear OEL-McDermott Myers buyout only costs 1m/year on the cap - saves 5. Boston moved enough cap out to re-sign Horvat (assuming Bergeron is retiring or will come back very cheap) Our D is rebuilt, and we end up with cap space after the Myers buyout to get a defensively responsible winger for Miller
  23. 9m for Bo won’t age well i like him but his numbers look better than he actually is Petey is the better player, and it isn’t close
