(Proposal) Armchair GM this offseason
eeeeergh replied to RWJC's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Agreed. They also have to gamble on some reclamation projects to try to capture some lopsided value - I like what they did with Dermott. Find players other teams dont see as much value in and pray they are more valuable to us. -

Definitely agree. Seems completely incoherent, and just a mishmash of random pieces. -

Agreed our defence needs a proper revamp but our forwards are also just too slow. Our entries get thwarted too easily, we're not a threat off the rush at all. We only get odd man rushes when we force turnovers. We need some fast skaters and playmakers. -

Would be nice to get some faster skaters to open up the ice. Its so painfully clear how slow our team is when they try to skate the puck in and always run into traffic. -

Tbh - trade anything for the #1 pick in 2023 Legendary generational talent who wants to be here over anywhere else Imagine how good he'd play. -
After a thorough investigation, NHL fines Vancouver Canucks 3 million dollars, to be applied against next year's cap for Smith's slap. No other penalties were assessed against teams or individuals.

The good news is JR/PA are not going to let him walk for nothing. They'll do anything they have to, even if we dont want to keep him. Potentially sign-and-trade like Boston's plan for Jake Debrusk. But being unwilling to let Motte go for nothing is a good sign re: their asset management plan imo. -

Boudreau's ability to see potential... thinking outside the box
eeeeergh replied to *Buzzsaw*'s topic in Canucks Talk
Boudreau is giving Podz sheltered minutes to develop his game, that's how u teach a player how to grow effectively without hurting their confidence or putting too much pressure on them that they cant handle. Jack Hughes got even less time in his rookie season than Podz is getting right now. Green putting Hogs in the top-6 right away may have been the worst thing he could have done for Hogs' development. Now Hogs' confidence is shot b/c he isnt playing in the top-6 and scoring goals, and his game has a ton of defensive holes that werent worked on under Green. -

Remember that outburst in a practice when Green was running a weird drill and Miller screams "We dont know what the f*** we're doing!!" Or that time a powerplay was being drawn up, and Garland and Boeser were shaking their heads in disagreement? yea... the coaching was incompetent. -

Its a possibility, i dont mind the extra center depth Richards gives us though. Was really nice to see Lammikko step in when Richards got waved out. -

the fallout from letting motte walk and getting nothing in return would have been awful and our cupboards are so empty, they cant afford to do that imo -

Its scary to think about how good he's going to be In a few years, he's going to be the guy who puts the team on his back and steals us the win singlehandedly. -

yeah they sure dont give their goaltenders any help. But man, their roster construction is awful. At least we have the excuse of not having a gamebreaking superstar, they have 2. And somehow they still messed it up. -
