[Proposal] Boeser to Las Vegas
Drakrami replied to Ted Lasso's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
lol.. I think you are asking for too much. I believe we have been shopping Boeser for a few years already with no takers. -
[Rumour] Nikita Tryamkin eyeing NHL return
Drakrami replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Oh great. Now the people who pencils in Tryamkin to play D for us every offseason for the past 10 years can finally have their wish come true. Congratulations to that group. -
1. Not a bad word about the Canucks mean nothing. That interview was PR101. Notice how he says he is so excited to be an Islanders? Right... excited about joining a team that is not in the playoffs. He is doing a textbook interview, praising everyone while offending no one. 2. JR already hinted what he offered to Horvat. He offered something that reflected his production thus far in Horvat's career, excluding this season. 7-7.5million AAV/8 years is a good bet. Horvat is probably looking at Robert Thomas and Forsberg's contract and wants 8.5mil AAV. For those that is asking Horvat to take a discount for the Canucks.. Stop being selfish cheapskates, Horvat's already paid his dues with the 5.5milx6years contract. He has well earned his upcoming contract. As for your sentiment that Horvat wanted to stay.. Based on the 2 points above; nah, don't think so. AND once again, who's to blame? He's been here for 9 years. And we've been losers for 9 years and unfortunately the trajectory is going the opposite of up. Every hockey player probably wants to win the cup in their career, I would want a new team for a change of scenary if I was Horvat as well.

[Discussion] Which Horvat Deal Would you do?
Drakrami replied to AngryElf's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
So Boston is going for a cup run and they trade away their 2RD right in the middle of the run? Makes sense much? Like they would literally chop off their defensive depth and trade away a defensemen who's been in their system for years. -
[Proposal] Demko to BUF, OEL to FLA
Drakrami replied to Qwags's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Management has stated we are going for retool not rebuild... Why would they trade away our only NHL calibre goalie....? Literally first player JR praises coming on board is Demko. So what is with all these Demko proposals lol...? -
For those who thinks this trade is underwhelming.. This is probably the highest 2023 1st pick we could get in any trade. Any contender's 2023 pick was gonna be #25-32. Some team like Detroit forking out their 2023 1st round pick, is unlikely. So the highest 2023 1st round pick in any possible Horvat trade is the return, will probably end up #12-19 in a very deep draft.

[Signing] Canucks re-sign Andrei Kuzmenko
Drakrami replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Kuzmenko took a big discount to sign this.. can't ask for much more. He must like playing with Pettersson. Hes almost point per game, playing 15-17 minutes a game and half the time not on PP1. Signing 2 years aged 26-28 is just huge. -
[Signing] Canucks re-sign Andrei Kuzmenko
Drakrami replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Very good deal. -
no. it's not speculation, it's logical reasoning. Makes no sense at all for Trotz to give Boudrau(someone he actually doesn't know) a call if he weren't offered the Canucks coaching job. And the subject of the topic still stands, a 3rd party feels disgusted at what's happened. I don't know where you are pulling out Trotz wants to be a GM. From what's been reported, hes taking care of family matters this season and will be looking to coach again in 23/24.
-
No idea what you are adding lol.. The reason Trotz reached out to Boudreau is obviously because the Canucks offered him a job, he declined it and called Boudreau after. The fact that Trotz as an outsider thinks we treated Boudreau unfairly remains. Trotz even hinted that management's the main problem here with a roster of poor defense and poor goaltending.

[Rumour] Bo Horvat Trade/Contract Talks
Drakrami replied to HOFsedins's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I have a feeling JR will pull through a blockbuster for Horvat. Something to look forward to. Although the part where the priority is young players and not draft picks sucks (still looking at a retool, sigh...) Our slogan should be Still Retooling Since 2012.... -
May be if some particular fans show more respect to our past successes instead of bashing one of our more sucessful GMs on this forum? (Gillis). We could be a CLASSY enough fanbase to enjoy a respectable franchise? Over the years, the blame and scapegoating of Gillis is naive and beyond ridicious. Some are even stupid enough to still blame Gillis for failures of 2023, not joking. To many fans 2014-2020 Benning was the golden boy whose every move was perfect and is heavily handicapped by Gillis. Now the sentiment is of course totally different, again. Good to see we go through the Benning and JR era and take a look back to the Gillis era and recognize it is something to be treasured, when we were legit contenders.

[PGT] Edmonton Oilers at Vancouver Canucks | Jan. 21, 2023
Drakrami replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
I think Demko doesnt even want to come back to mess up his stats at this point lol.. -
Canucks fans continue to live in dreamland thinking offloading cap is easy. Hasn't been for 2-3 years already. Either slow, or will never get it. Myers for a 2nd, here we go!

I'm Betting Bo Winds Up On Isles..THEN ____ ...
Drakrami replied to Nuxfanabroad's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Pretty crazy NYR have so much cap space next year even though they have pretty weighty contracts in Panarin, Zibanejad, Kreider, Fox, Trouba. Now this is a rebuild with a bit of retool done right. It wasn't that long ago NYr(2018) went on their full rebuild and sold their roster. They then signed some middle-agers in between like Panarin, Zibanejad, Trouba, Kreider; all are paying dividends. As opposed to a lot of retool from us that all failed lol: Sutter, Eriksson, Sutter, Sbisa, Gudbranson, Granlund, Roussel, Beagle, Toffoli, OEL, Garland Looks like a lesson here is if you want to "retool" you better be freaking good at pro scouting. Seems like Benning instead of pro scouting, he looked at what # the players were drafted and wished they will turn it around in a Canucks uniform. -
[Poll] How much of CDC is actually on team tank?
Drakrami replied to Roberts's topic in Canucks Talk
Stupid question.. the chances of us making the playoffs is about 0. We either tank in a very deep draft or try our best and still lose games, drafting #10-15. Remember Benning saying in his 2nd or 3rd year they would never tank because they dont want our youngsters to develop a loser mentality? That worked out really well. -
[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at Florida Panthers | Jan. 14, 2023
Drakrami replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Oh man.. Forsling is pretty good. Imagine if we didn't trade him and he remained in the system, we wouldn't have needed to go for OEL. This is what happens when you go impatient and go for shortcuts, hoping for a quick retool with someone like Clendening. And it feels no where like it, but Pettersson is on pace for a 107 point season... that's amazing. -
Can this board stop changing sentiment for every other game? When I was writing, don't be too positive this team should go into rebuild, that was 8 games ago 6-2 vs SJS, I get bashed for continuing to advocating rebuild lol.. Now after a string of horrible losses everyone's suddenly looking at what's in the top 4 draft pick. Most frickle fans in the league lol.

Edit- Rick Tocchet Expected To Be Next Head Coach
Drakrami replied to BertaNuck's topic in Canucks Talk
Thanks for the lesson on Canucks history and the likely trend in the upcoming 2-3 years. May be if we fail long enough, owner will do a clean rebuild (finally). -
Edit- Rick Tocchet Expected To Be Next Head Coach
Drakrami replied to BertaNuck's topic in Canucks Talk
A coach change is not only near, it is NEEDED. When you let in at least 4 goals every game, you are not only a not a NHL team, you are not a functioning hockey team. It's like a ship with the biggest hole ever at the bottom keel. It is the most immediate and gaping problem that needs to be fixed. And if it is 42 games in and Bruce can't fix it, he should not be keeping his job. I like Bruce's characters a lot. But the results are not there. Blame could be shifted to the management team with their lack of upgrade to the defense and decision with goaltending. But it is always the coach that sees the first action taken upon, that's just how it works. I need to praise Benning here, if anything that dude was extra careful with goaltending and made sure he had enough insurance. All the moves he made each season made sure we at least had a good starter and a solid backup. All the little moves he made in between making sure we always had solid goaltending bringing us Miller, Markstrom etc... -
[Report] Sabres Goalie Prospect to hit Free Agency
Drakrami replied to HKSR's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Looks like a pretty solid prospect. -
Now I dont know what to make out of this... it is kind of funny.. Miller: Try to sign; if can't, trade. Horvat: Try to sign; if can't, trade. Kuzmenko: Try to sign; if cant, trade. Not sure I am liking this management's direction, which is basically directionless. Goes step by step, leaves everything by chance. Takes what is given to them instead of being the decider.
