  1. This was 100% a cap dump. We either asked for Stillman back (because management didn't want to look bad with Dickinson + 2nd for nothing) or Chicago insisted Stillman go the other way and we thought that's ok since it will add to our defense depth. And the reason for this move seems to be so that we can keep more forwards on the roster (Aman, Joshua etc...) and more wiggly room to re-sign Horvat.
  2. Horvat's really scoring his way to a big contract. From JR's newest interview, the chances of us trading him is high too... Not sure that's good or bad.
  3. The point isnt to say those were perfect mathces lol. But him saying that the RHD market is stagnant and you cant get a RHD in 10 years is just flat out wrong. There is a market there and it is up to the experts to make it happen. And if you are sitting on your hands, waiting for that perfect RHD age, cap, talent-wise to grab, well yeah, you shoudn't be a GM.
  4. lol stop exagerrating by 10x. Marino for 3rd + Smith Bear for 5th Petry for Matheson and 4th Schultz signed as UFA Klingberg signed as UFA Manson signed as UFA Burns for a 3rd All of these moves just happened in the last few months that I can think of.
  5. Funny how Pittsburgh thought they'd upgrade Marino with Petry and now NJ Devils is 1st in the division and Pittsburgh is 2nd last.
  6. I think Boudreau is trying out the new guys to see what he has in the arsenal. (Stillman, Bear, Studnicka). Hopefully that is the case and it wont take too long. Not good news on the defensive side, we are stuck with old regressing dmen with no up and coming prospect replacements.
  7. If the season is going down the drain; yes we play the kids. It's only 12 games in. Boudreau is literally getting paid millions to ace a competitive team and win games, that's his freaking job lol. The question also begs, why would any sane coach bench Pearson over Podkolzin.
  8. ? Canucks fans loved it when we stacked up on forwards. Now the inevitable happens (someone needs to get bench) they start whinning? How about stop overrating Hoglander and Podkolzin? Obviously their game is flawed this is why Podkolzin was often benched in KHL as well. Why would any sane coach bench Pearson over Podkolzin? (unless Podkolzin is out playing him, which he has not)
  9. So you are going to out Benning Benning? I am glad you are willing to take a whole franchise and gamble on a whim. As the saying goes, never go full retard.
  10. rhetorical question. Since rebuild is the only way to go. Or you can retool and have wasted years. In our case, 9 wasted years and counting. We haven't been a contender since 2011.
  11. Mmmmm.... looks like we are still #32 in the standings... 10 games in.. playoffs arent looking good. Should we really just tank and call it a year lol.
  12. Makar's already helped won the cup and was playoffs mvp. yes. huge gap.
  13. Not sure why 5 years away is a bad thing... Is Allvin not expecting to be here in 5 years lol? Isn't it normal for prospects especially later rounders to develop 4-5 years, we stack up on them now and it will help us in the mid-future. Unless we are Benning style and empty out our cupboards which the new management promised not to do.....????
  14. Dickinson is a douche. Scores a goal, flinches thinking there's contact coming, sees that it is only his teammate driven to the ground, starts celebrating without a care for his downed teammate... lol. I've seen hints of him being a douche on this team even with his invisibleness. Now this further confirms it. Would be pretty bad if Chicago flips him for a 2nd at TDL lol.
  15. Shoulda done it in the offseason.... bloody obvious our D needed upgrades. Did they even check if Poolman was going to play well enough in the offseason..? This is actually signature JR if you think about it. Penguins has been acing no named defensemen for years, relying on Crosby/Malkin to carry the team, all the while JR keeps on stacking up on forwards.
  16. I actually think this is a decent trade. Could hopefully step into 3rd/4th line in a couple of years. but of course... i know nothing about Myrenberg.
  17. I cant believe people dont criticize this trade more. We are #32 in the standings and we just traded a 2nd to move cap..... lol. I've been so down on Dickinson as a player I'm glad hes gone, but this trade, losing a 2nd is actually quite big.
  18. And when I said Ottawa's team is further along than ours people went apeshit.
  19. Definition of a rebuild is to stock up on draft picks and very young prospects. I don't know if retool is even a word in the hockey world. But whatever it is, it is a half full bucket bandaid that doesn't work and a waste of a few years. Has anyone seen a NHL team that "retool'ed" and did well?
  20. So the worst thing that's ever happened is that 19/20 playoff run?
  21. Dahlin has 4 more goals than our entire D corps. And people would say Hughes is worth a lot more than Dahlin a couple of years ago.
  22. Are you ok? Why would the Rangers trade you Schnieder for a 1st lol... Chychrun is worth like 3x 1sts in the market. And here we have you offering a 1st round prospect, Hoglander and Poolman dump. Enticing...
  23. Had been saying, this core is not Stanley Cup level. In fact, may be not even playoff level. 18/19: Missed the playoffs 19/20: Made the playoffs, because of COVID expanded brackets. (Probably would have missed the playoffs without COVID) 20/21: Missed the playoffs 21/22: Missed the playoffs Also said the worst thing we could have done is resigning a 29 year to a 8 year deal when we aren't a contender nor a recent Cup winner. JR saying Horvat is the leader and this is his team is interesting... Because with the 8 years Horvat's been here I dont feel his leadership or will to win. His production is good, but other than that when the game's on the line, lead by example, take it to the next level, rallying the team, none of that is happening with him. So JR declaring this is Horvat's team just points to cluelessness to me. Oh well, the season is young. Let's see how things play out.
  24. This guy is only 32? Thought hes older than that. Pretty good depth for a playoff run. Carolina is formidable with all these veteran additions.
