Schroeder should get at least another year to be looked at. He turns 24 this year and was injured for much of last year. I trust Benning to make this decision. Schroeder isn't a bad 3rd line option anyway, compared to our other players such as Booth, Hansen and etc...

You always want to draft a cheap young prospect instead of trading for a 28+ years old with 1-2 years left on his contract with a 5mil+ cap hit. When's the last time you see another team trade away their top 10 pick a few months before the draft? Schneider's trade comes to mind, but that trade was a steal for NJ and fulfills its need for a goaltender though.

So many baseless arguments here... Let's say, for example, the arguments that involve Cody Hodgson's production numbers this year. Do you guys not realize Hodgson plays on the most offensively challenged team in the league? How many goals does Buffalo have this year? 66 goals. How many goals does Chicago have? 145goals. What's the average? I'm too lazy, but somewhere between 90-100. So of course Hodgson's numbers will look bad. I even see more baseless arguments like people comparing Hodgson's numbers to Santorelli. This is a Kassian thread.. It is interesting to compare Kassian and Hodgson numbers because we actually swiped these players in a trade. What's the need to compare Hodgson and Santorelli? Makes no sense.

Hear me out. This kid has 0 hockey iq. Doesn't know what to do with the puck. Always just gives it away blindly. Never backchecks. I have never seen him go beyond the hashmark on our end. His shot seems ok though.
