35 points is a breakout year? We could just sign Evan Rodriguez without giving up an asset. This would be a disastrous trade (no offense)

    The proposal isn't bad.

35 points is a breakout year for Glass personally. The OP says unless you think someone drafted at #11 in 2023 will be better than Glass, Glass may not be a bad choice (and aka:retool speeds up a few years of development) Glass is 24 year and with a somewhat decent ceiling; therefore, this is not just a proposal to find a 3C who can score 35 points. Not someone like Rodriguez who hops on high offensive team to inflate his stats and trying to score a multiyear retirement contract afterwards. Don't want him on our team. He is not good.

Doubt Nashville will bite though. Don't see them trading away a young center.

Not too sure about that. Schneider is trending downward. His value has dropped like a rock. He's looking like a bottom pair guy, at best. We don't want him, unless he comes cheap.

If he is tradable for anything we can afford, we should snap him up in a heartbeat. Feels like he is just being overshadowed since NYR already has an established top4. The dude’s just 21, the upside is huge.

After this playoffs, I think Tkachuk takes the edge. Matthews disappeared in the post-season, Tkachuk raised his game and is winning games by himself now. Right now if you're building a team, you take Tkachuk.

Dare I say, if you had to pick between McDavid and Tkachuk...who do you take...

I don't care if a guy drops 200 points in the regular season, if they disappear in the playoffs the way Matthews did, he's useless. Matthews still had 11pts in 11 games but look at what Tkachuk is doing - not many players in the world can raise their game the way he has. 3 GWGs in the Eastern Conference final series of 4 games. Even McDavid isn't playing that clutch.

Yeah if we are talking hypothetically i'll take Tkachuk over Matthews. But still McDavid over Tkachuk by a long shot. As mentioned above, Tkachuk wasn't always playing so well as evident in last year's playoffs Flames vs Edmonton.

Can't agree. Our window is now. The next four seasons we have Hughes locked up and Demko for most of that. Demko on a value contract. The window, not well timed, like it or not, is now. The core pieces to make a run are here, including JT. Just gotta keep doing what they can to infill the support cast.

Why do people think having players locked up = window? lol.. So basically 100% of the league is in a window now? Last I checked Ottawa, Buffalo, even Arizona has Keller locked up. lol....

    Let it go.

Let what go exactly, can you elaborate?

You have something constructive you want to add? Or are you only capable to repeat 3 words? If I am talking to someone from the Hodor family, hey, my apologies for going so hard on you. After you have been exposed as a wuss who can't even insult someone straight to their face. What exactly are you so scared of?

Hey, I am gonna insult you. Wait let me decorate it cause I am really scared of the blowback.

"I sincerely hope that you go see a therapist."

The spin on these boards is, at times, enough to give a person vertigo.

"We don't want that gutless puke on our team - Benning drafts character"

"If we drafted Tkapuke that we we likely wouldn't have Pettersson or Hughes"

    etc, etc

    Yeah.

Half of what Im trying to point out is the board just blindlessly defends management some times. Up until 3 years ago, people were still defending the Juolevi pick when it's glaringly obvious we dropped the ball on this one.

I say this with sincerity; If you hang onto shit this long you should probably be seeing a therapist.

You should see one yourself first, and then recommend to the board. Guy who is sincere rofl.

By the way, if you want to throw an insult at someone, don't decorate with I say this with sincerity. It just shows how a wuss you are.

Cslgary sure got hosed on that deal. Hate them, so it’s funny. Loser Lames!

100 point first line winger, top 4 RDmen, B prospect and a 1st rounder?

Don't see any team offering a better deal than that.

Hard to blame Flames on that one. Not to mention they had no rebuild, need to make the playoffs again this season in mind.

And.... you just realized this? Need to think a couple steps ahead....

And essentially this is what the Leafs team is. A bunch of high scoring soft skilled players who can't push through in the playoffs. They even spent the last few years buffing up their bottom 6 - to no avail though. Good time to self reflect if we do have a cup core or not.

Let's be real, Canucks were an over powered OP team in 2011. They were a juggernaut that not only finished top #1 on PP but also tied for 2nd best PK and had the best goals for and lowest GAA - ALLLLL in 1 season..  definition of a super team and of course no one wants to root for the top dog, that's why others tried to gang up against us.

It's universally understood Vancouver always has had a competitive team up until recently so they were feared and respected enough to be rallied against..

Toronto on the other hand wasn't coming in over powered or top dog, they are always mid tier yet we were hoping for them to get far.

Vancouver's always had a competitive team up until 2011 you mean - - that's not recently, that's 12 years ago lol.

I'm hoping for Toronto/Edmonton to do well. No idea why the fanbase is so hateful.

Not really. It's kind of juvenile to say 'a game is a game', regardless of the player.

A suspension is, in effect, a fine. Pietrangelo makes $47,600 per day. Bunting makes $5,140 per day. Financially, a 1-game suspension for AP is a far larger "fine" than a 3-game suspension for MB. Money is different in the playoffs, but the "cost" for AP's team to be missing their top defenseman(/player?) for a game is very high. It's much more of a hit to a team than losing a 3rd-pairing/depth guy like Rome for 4 games.

And really, what did Pietrangelo do? He smacked his stick across Draisaitl's chest protector (and arms, but even if it missed the padding, the fact it was across both arms and the chest spread out the impact). It was stupid and reckless, and deserved a suspension because of optics, and how close he was to hitting Leon somewhere that could actually hurt him. But I tend to think Pietrangelo knew exactly where he was hitting him, and could have done far more damage if that was his intention. It looked bad - but the actual effect and intention wasn't really that bad. A game seems pretty fair, IMO.

Chopping at someone's arm with a hockey stick can break it you know? Ask Teravainen. Stop making lesser of the attack. It is what it is. Shouldn't have happened and he will be suspended.
