  1. OEL will help that blue line. Happy we’ve moved on as much as we can from that experiment though
  2. I’d argue he’s earned a raise. But I’d give him a 2 year term max. He’s still in early 30s, his playoff experience warrants leadership of which he is already naturally gifted. He’s a role player no doubt, but as slow as he is, he’s still positionally sound. And that’s in pretty good contrast with and to his lessening mobility. He’s a heart and soul warrior. He still is currency in the sport. Put it this way, a team traded specifically for him as an additional piece to rely on with their collective playoff hopes.
  3. Where there smoke there’s fire. Whether it’s the TO fanbase or media pundits, most all agree that he’s serviceable as a spare part. There’s a reason why he’s not being renewed.
  4. We need players that don’t absolutely require someone else to help them earn their TOI or contract. We have one already in F group in BB6. This team needs a couple multitaskers on D who can play consistently. Holl is anything but, unfortunately.
  5. Holl played 80 games and averaged 20:14 TOI for the season. And he’s best suited as a 6 (or less). What all of it really depends on is team need and composition of D. He may be a good stop gap but here’s hoping we’re set our sights higher.
  6. I’ll be pretty happy if mutually us and Tree can come to a contract agreement and he can deliver on our 3rd line. No assets given up!
  7. Sooooo, if we somehow end up with our top line consisting of QH and FH, what do we nickname it? The bad date line? The creepy drunk uncle line? The touchy feely line? Huggy and Horny as a pair is quite the combo. Could sub in (Rath)Boner too for consistency.
  8. Once the market opens up on Saturday, it is expected that the New York Rangers will find their veteran backup goaltender rather quickly. Kevin Weekes of ESPN reports that Jonathan Quick will land with the Rangers shortly after the market opens. This season, New York employed Jaroslav Halak as their main backup, who posted a record of 10-9-5, earning a .903 SV% and a 2.72 GAA. It’s expected that Igor Shesterkin will continue to shoulder much of the load in net next season, but the Rangers have reportedly coveted an upgrade to their backup netminder.
  9. I doubt it too but he is UFA tomorrow. Was signed to a 1 year deal for 750K last season. Might be some veteran presence Abby depth. I’m just curious who this rumour was about…
  10. I wonder if we are intending to sign Cal Foote or if the target is more obscure/out of box option like an Andrej Sustr for depth? Apparently some rumour still going around that were about to sign a large (tall) Dman…
  11. That’s what I mean. There obviously wasnt a place for Duchene in the new regime.
  12. Vegas type guy. Could see them trying to find a way to squeeze him in.
  13. Drance used to only buy OPeeChee hockey cards so he could swallow the gum.
  14. I think it’s actually short for Gimp A …? Grandpa’s a gimp? Since when??
  15. Pieces are what you accumulate when rebuilding. What’s better are pieces that are young, have recent and decent NHL experience while still also having promise.
  16. Will be so sweeeeeet too when Bedard bails on them as he’s in the prime of his career to come home (hopefully Johnny Gaudreau style).
