  1. And we have our own in Hughes. Still would prefer bigger bodies playing proper aggressive shut down roles and leave the offense to Huggy, OEL and Myers. Potentially Boner next year too for offense, but if he is utilized then definitely need to dispatch Poolman and Hamonic, and pick up a young NHL level version of Schenn for the 5/6. I’d love for us to pick up Graves for the 3rd pairing D. He’s team first and we need that kind of grit. Reminds me of a nasty version of Brent Sopel, who for his faults was also a heart and soul guy.
  2. Personally I don’t want either of Lafreniere or Kakko in a Nux jersey. If we were to acquire I would hope we repackage elsewhere for someone/something else. Not sold on either yet, myself. We already have enough of that type of player. Stack the D first!
  3. What about this blockbuster... Miller + Garland + Rathbone for Lafreniere + Miller + Schneider + Kravtsov + 2023 2nd Do we do this deal?
  4. "Executives". AKA two other guys sitting in adjacent stalls in an NYC subway bathroom who were shooting the sh!t while literally shootin the sh!t.
  5. Yes please keep him. Deal out Boeser, (and if possible-Poolman, Dickinson, Halak) at the deadline. Use the remainder of the season to integrate the acquired assets into our roster/system. Bring up Rathbone for some late season experience/reward for his play and to let exec and coaching see what they have in him. my bet is he will excel. Also, use that time to assess who performs, what roles/attitudes they take, once one of “the core” has been exchanged out. Maybe it’ll be a necessary adjustment to shake up what is often a stale attitude. Hopefully galvanizing. But something large is inevitable either way.
  6. I’m sticking with JTM, Motte, Boner for Lafreniere, Schneider, Kravtsov, 2nd. Don’t want to see any of those 3 traded but to me that’s balanced for both teams on all fronts. Really think Boner could develop into a bonafide top 2-4 Dman though.
  7. I agree with you. People also (over)valuing him because he’s the prototype of what we need AND we finally have assets to shop for with. that certainly increases the appetite. he hasn’t proven squat yet. he’s an infatuation/ideal with potential. but he fits the window, age demo, and most importantly, our most dominant roster need. and, we need his cap relief, which also aligns with our upcoming contracts.
  8. If Miller goes to the rags I predict they will resign him at 8mill x 6 years. Obvy, some cap casualties will be a part of that. anybody have other opinions on his next contract (assuming he stays heathy and performing at current clip)?
  9. And that's what is primo currency in the current cap world market...young potential. If im NYR, im arguing that Schneider is anticipated to be a cornerstone franchise dman for them and nothing less. Heavy cost and inflated price. Further to that, there is no condition that NYR trades with us to fill their need. Not much like Miller on market, sure, but if they pluck 1 or 2 F's for their playoff run, at very little expense to their young/prospects, I see them doing that. Then look at a trade for Miller in the offseason after they review cap situation.
  10. Right, good point! Perhaps that’s not even a tangible part of the convo. If I remember correctly now, have to wait until final year? Anybody know? Apologies
  11. I wonder if a deal with NYR is contingent on Miller agreeing to an extension with them prior to/at time of trade. I think that would be an absolute condition if Schneider is included in any discussion leading up. Question then is what is the cost/salary bump impact to their cap situation next season. For Miler to extend will likely be asking top dollars on a 6 year deal. Regardless, still believe NYR is best trading partner, atm.
  12. It’s not all bad… Ratba$tard suspended Then this: Keith crashed hard into the boards in the first period, and he needed help getting off the ice. ... The defenseman appeared to hit his head or shoulder during the incident. That likely leaves the 38-year-old as questionable at best for Friday's game versus the Islanders
  13. Or even just manage to play harder for their good buddy. Seems like he’s really well respected and appreciated by his peers.
  14. So am I. To quote my first response to you…”who cares man”. Sending hugs.
  15. Who cares man. Go make yourself a trophy out of cardboard and play GM mode on NHL 22. You’ll feel better about it all then, maybe.
