  1. Yeah but having an extra 1st round pick (Lundqvist) out of the deal would be a pretty good achievement for this club right now. We need Trader Jim to get to work and live up to his rep.
  2. I would borrow and wear a goalie’s cage if I was the driver, just to be safe.
  3. And those mistake/overpayment moves like Copp happen every year. GMs always risk assets for playoff hopes. If Bo makes it to TDL healthy and at a relatively similar pace, we could be pretty fortunate on a return
  4. There’s definitely fire. Unfortunately it’s not originating out of performance but failure. That creates divides. If this team was all in cahoots, safe to say the record and accomplishments would measure quite differently
  5. They’re right though. Some very fickle fans in this forum just waiting for someone to falter so they can take years of frustration with this club and project/focus it all centrally, and it’s rarely justified. have to wonder if 20% of this fanbase/forum could ever be satisfied. I know I’m not with the way things have been run. I’m fact, I’m actually unimpressed with this mgmt group and the way issues and drama have lingered on for so long like a really bad protein fart. Just waiting for them to clear the room and establish fresh oxygen.
  6. Just imagine we could afford/retain our current top 6 and have a dynamite offense, if only we could deal out Boeser, Garland, Pearson and Myers. Keep Bo with JTM. EP with Kuz We’d clear roster space for Podz to come back up next season, perhaps Klim in a couple years, and if we took a hit to lose OEL, we might have cap space to pursue another true top 4 Dman. So close but yet so far.
  7. Fair points. Problem is only one of those guys you can depend on for face offs and responsible 2 way play
  8. Methinks he’s still playing through a lingering injury, but I can see where you’re coming from and agree with you in terms of what the contract means going forward
  9. He def spent a good portion of his time with the Nux ruling “the throne”
  10. You’re gonna offer your captain and long serving player a contract worth less than what you’re gonna offer Boeser? Or a mid level UFA?? yeah that number is insulting.
  11. Agreed but I think he’s a mid level worry, especially if we indeed start a rebuild. Great guy to have as a mentor, but very expensive for that role as well. One thing we’ve never seen…imagine this club having a payroll that just clips the cap floor for a few seasons? I wonder if FA would be willing to allow us to become that and weaponize cap space for a few seasons to stock the cupboard. Unlikely while we have EP or QH I’d guess
  12. He is to a different team. He’s earned his UFA status and whatever he can fetch. If I was him, I’d be going for max value and term from someone after spending a lot of time with a franchise that never afforded him the opportunity (in linemates) to produce like he is now. He’s played the way he was asked to. Who knows, on another club maybe he’s a 70pt guy…?
  13. You’re busted @EddieVedder You even sang about it: ”Even FLOWwwwww”…
  14. Interesting call. Could totally see it early next season if he’s still not a lock for the club by then. I’ll hazard a long shot guess on Demko if he gets back to being healthy and this team begins a rebuild. I think he’ll want (and deserves) a more reliable D in front of him to extend his shelf life.
  15. Mark Messier is on his way to lay siege on castle Eriksson
  16. I imagine (and definitely hope) Brock will be traded before Bo, which will afford mgmt to offer Bo a fair market deal. The question is will he want to re-sign here with the gong show this franchise has become. He’s a proud captain so perhaps…but if I was him I’d be pretty damn interested to see what offers come in as a UFA.
