imho, you make some great points. And then you have a few like this that kinda bring into question whether you’re objective or just emotional. Demko has been far from average for this team. Go back and rewatch a few of the past seasons, and maybe also check the opinions of some of hockey’s most trusted players, coaches and analysts, and perhaps you’ll learn the difference between clutch and average. He’s def having a rough year so far though but that doesn’t discount who he has been for this club, and if does do that for you, then all I can say is you’ll never be satisfied…and that’s a miserable existence as a fan. -
No grave necessary, Joe. Bank some DNA and all of us at CDC will have you recreated in a lab so you can celebrate amongst the living. It’ll be well deserved and a lonnnnng time waiting.

Guess what tho Heff? He’s currently playing in the NHL and running a second unit power play! He is ready offensively. It’s more so if he can improve defensively. We know you detest the one-dimensional O-minded Dman, so he’ll be a hard sell to you, but imho I think he’s very close to ready if not already there. He’s just getting his first real taste now. Deserves a long look.

Yeah, not to mention how strong our scouts/contacts in Sweden already are and they probably devalued his projections. The Swedish mafia is strong in the Nux and Swedish prospects are their forte. ok trade. Maybe they can envision Studnicka playing a 4th line role next season for us with Aman as the 3rd? just a closer to pro playing depth piece and also gives MDP a chance elsewhere. Everyone wins in a lateral move.

Aqualini giving them one last nudge after last year’s turnaround? Who knows. It would explain a lot of what seems to be a few disjointed moves and lack of urgency to address D by mgmt this offseason. JTM - To cost control an asset that is still a very trade-able commodity who was also a risk of walking away for nothing? I truly believe JTM would’ve commanded the same or more if he made it to UFA, so basically they paid the contract to retain him, or, his rights and still have option to move him this season if the team disappoints? Again, this is all just far fetched fantasy speculation on my part. just for fun. Mik - for his PK strength. We’ve lost some really good defensive F in the last few years. Mik has blazing speed and defensive acumen. He shouldnt be expected to put up points in a top 6 role, but can substitute in and function in that spot if need be. ***Also, he’s managed by Milstein, who is the same agent for Kuzmenko. Would not surprise me if this was kind of a part and parcel negotiation and a factor as to why we landed Kuz. -

Caveat: I just smoked up but could you imagine if this was the intention of mgmt all along…Allow this team to implode upon itself and wait it out so that the fans will yearn for change. It basically is enabling the Benning era to unravel and then using that to mgmt’s advantage to sell a rebuild. Perhaps this is why there was and is delay from mgmt with JTM and Bo regarding contract negotiations. Stall tactic in their hedging of a bet against the trajectory of this team. I would truly admire if it was a deliberate but stealthy tank (if we’re hovering around the same by game 10) if it meant shooting their shot at obtaining a potentially truly franchise altering player. And with a nice young core already under contact. Could be the quite the heist. And hyper accelerate the reconfiguration of this club. I’m begging for it. I think it’s the most strategic opportunity this franchise has had in decades.
