  1. When you are capped out with a mediocre team this is the only way to get into the playoffs, and a hope for the sc.
  2. Since he's an rfa, trade rights after season and save cap.
  3. The problem with Gillis was he would always trade 2nd and some 3rd for depth at the trade deadline. The kicker was they played very little.
  4. I have read the comments, and believe that some are focused too.much on the here and now. Since Nov. I have stated we are in cap trouble, with bb, jtm, bh in line for raises we can't budget. We need speed on the wings and mobility on defence. Why are we not trying to create space and picks at the best time. Ps, I have given up hope of seeing a cup in my lifetime.
  5. I'm a canuck fan prior to 1970, most seasons are the same. Play well enough to be in the 9-14 draft spot. The team plays well after a poor start or plays poorly after a good start. To top that off, if we are in the 3-5 draft spot, we loss a couple of spots in the draft draw. Now we are starting a new tradition, being close enough at trade deadline not too trade for picks or prospects. We fire Benning, replacing the front office at a rate of 3 to 1, but with the same results. Is this the curse of Trevor Linden?
  6. Make the defence unit on both sides about equal????
  7. The problem is 1&2 line.players have had poor season to this point, diminished trade value.
  8. I would add 1 more option, use the trade deadline to free up some cap space, ie trade BB for draft picks
  9. Would Stan make a good poho? His reactions of wanting to restore previous culture a real positive.
  10. Best game I've seen this year. The team was aggressive and The new system seemed to bring out the best in our skilled forwards, 12 Connor Garlands.
  11. Their was a season in the recent pass when Bo was the only decent face off man, you want to go back to past?
  12. Steamer was the leader of NW bruins, if we had their work ethics and play physical , we're in the playoffs
  13. This couldn't happen because benning group did not know how to budget both long term and short term
  14. iMO Gilman good for poho, not qualified for gm. Kelley would work with Bruce.
  15. This is a move by a poor organization. A poho 1st then gm, assess needs then a coach.
  16. My memory was the Sedins, could not trade them at $14M cap hit, therefore not finishing low enough for impact players.
  17. That wasn't the issue, the Seattle draft was, could only keep one.
  18. Pk are part of the game. If you don't have the personnel to kill a pp, then that's on benning
  19. I believe the problem is personnel. Not having an extra pk defenceman and a right handed center. Signing an unvax player and being unaware of sutter's longtimers status was poor mgmt. Then the debacle of training camp of who they traded/lost on waivers was unacceptable.
  20. Watching Donny and Dhali discuss a Gillis return. I thought it would make more sense to have Gilman return as poho and have a Mellenby as a GM. Gilman would handle contracts, planning. Mellenby look after pro personnel and an agm for amateur personnel.
  21. If you are going to trade, I believe it has to BB as we are headed for cap trouble and trading BB would be getting ahead of it as well as this position is our strongest
