  1. We don’t have anyone in our organization tough enough to make Lowry accountable. Thanks Green, Thanks Benning. edit: Scotty Walker would probably tool him.
  2. I saw highlights of TRY I’m not sure if it was this year or last... but his foot speed looks to slow now. He’d be a 6’8 pylon.
  3. I said in the off-season that if I had to choose between the two, that id rather have him than Toffoli. He’s our Marchand(minus the dirty sh**)
  4. He’s super slow with foot speed, but his positioning and awareness is usually pretty good.
  5. Ahhh I see. In Jrs I never recalled it being a big deal but 5 of us were righties and we had one lefty on our regular 6. I’m not so dead set on either hand... I just want my D being capable of defense and positioning. Myers is atrocious at this. Really zero in on him... he is horrible at positioning and anticipating. I always figured we had Hughes and OEL for the PP and we could always throw a forward on the point if we need a right handed shot.
  6. What’s the big deal about RHD? What if you had a top level RD that shoots left... do we pass on him?
  7. You’re 100% right, Brock will be gone. If he’s not it most likely means that we lose Hoglander & Podkolzin in the next year or two.
  8. iMac is awful. I don’t know why people give him any respect. He’s the one who was writing stories in the province about things he heard in the dressing room. Anyone who has played ANY level of serious hockey knows that rule #1, is you don’t talk about what happens in a dressing room, outside of the room. Always thought iMac was a snivelling little rat.
  9. I suspect Botterill will be involved, I think as assistant GM/capologist. I have a weird feeling that Mellanby, Futa or MacFarland will be the new GM. If Botterill is hired as GM, then I have no idea who the assistant will be. I didn’t like Botterill as a GM, but he’s got some of the most experience in that role out of the names being mentioned.
  10. Macintyre is going to lose his mind!!! I love it!!! Jim Rutherford is bringing in a winning culture into Vancouver.
  11. That’s just it, if Pettersson is not playing like a franchise player, JR will not give him Franchise player immunity. He’ll be kicking tires with every team in the league, to see if he can get a different struggling player of the same calibre. Theres no more free rides to anyone in Vancouver and if there’s passengers out on the ice, they’ll be gone.
  12. I’m willing to bet that Poolman or Myers are the first moved for players. We really need a 3rd and 4th in depth D. It’s the worst kept secret in the league amongst analysts and pundits that the Canucks defence is weak. Not a 5th and 6th playing as #2 pairing.
  13. I don’t think any of these idiots ever want the Canucks to win a cup. Rutherford is the winningest GM in the cap era, and still these guys want to s*** all over him. It’s funny, they wanted change and now they’ve got a GM who will trade away their whole core of things aren’t going well and has the Gonads to do it + has been given full control to do it if he wants. This must be a classic, scary case of be careful what you wish for. I’m personally glad they’ve got the most active trading GM of the last 30 years. Maybe he’ll address this Defense that wouldn’t be considered NHL level by very many teams.
  14. He had an extension of 2 years at 2million if I recall. The Canucks owe him 3.5.. basically a buyout, unless someone else hires him. ps: please stop yelling at us.
  15. Coach contracts are guaranteed at the NHL. But here’s where it gets interesting, if Green is hired in the off season for example and is hired at 1.5 million/season (Canucks signed him for 2 million/season prior to termination)... then that means the Canucks would only have to make up the difference 500,000 to get to that guarantee. Heres where it gets interesting pt 2: Because of the way this works, the Canucks would have the final say in any contract offered to Green in the next 1.5 years. This is to prevent a team like Philadelphia for example, to hire Green for $1 since he’s already being paid by Vancouver.
  16. An interesting tidbit I just read is that Rutherford averaged a trade/month during his tenor in Pittsburgh. They said he’s got a reputation of trading away anybody that is a locker room issue and not afraid to trade away core players. It should be interesting but hopefully he exercises a little patience since Boudreau is new and gives this team a chance to see what it can do with a new philosophy and system.
