  1. Agree whole heartedly. I think this pick was a miss and get called a hater for it. But at the end of the day a top 5 should be there(injuries aside) he’s had what? 2-3 seasons to try and make it. It’s better that we get something for him rather than keeping him as a 7th or 8th Dman in fear of losing him on waivers. If you look at Fox, 3rd rd in the same draft as Joulevi... he’s already won a Norris trophy. So I’m optimistic that even if we can get a 3rd or 4th rd pick for him, there’s a chance we can turn it into gold.
  2. That was. He brought an element we were lacking, unfortunately it didn’t work out. And it’s sad to have that many concussions but he had to think about the rest of his life.
  3. The good thing is that our prospect pool seems deep, with Rathbone, Woo and I’m even optimistic on Keeper potentially becoming a good depth defence man eventually. We’ve got a good young team I feel.
  4. I’ve cheered for the Canucks for 35 years. As such it’s okay to be honest and not impressed with busts. Schroeder, Hodgson, Rodin, Joulevi, Virtanen(because of his character) ...but this fanbase will try to milk failed prospects until they’re 30. It’s embarrassing.
  5. Let me guess, you’ve never played hockey before?
  6. Whys that trolling? Do you think Joulevi is top pairing? Do you think he’s as good as Sergachev, Macavoy, Fox, Chychrun or a dozen other Dmen currently playing in the NHL from his draft year? It’s okay to admit that we wasted a 5th overall on a complete bust.
  7. No, he is. A 5th overall should be nhl ready. Not needing 10 years for him to become something more than a 6th/7th D man. He’s not even in the top 20 for D-men in his draft year.
  8. It’s awesome that it takes 5-7 years to develop a 5th overall into a 6th-8th D man on the depth chart.
  9. Good tonight; Podz, Hog, Rathbone. Hughes, Di Guessepe(spelling is horrible I know) highmore, OEL, Poolman I thought were okay. The rest was ugly. Hopefully the big squad starts to gel quickly, regardless of who makes it.
  10. I will say that I like Podz and Hog as a pair. They seem to make some nice passes and I like that Podz has thrown a hit or two.
  11. Is this the NHL squad we’ll be watching this year? If so that’s scary considering they aren’t using McJesus, Drai or Nurse.
  12. I still remember when people Thought the likes of Gaunce and Rodin were gonna be the next allstars or Cody Hodgson would take us to the promise land, or that Joulevi would be a top pairing D man
  13. Unfortunate, but it’s not like he’s irreplaceable. People will probably be upset when this happens to Joulevi as well(if he’s claimed)
  14. WOW, an original comment from you that isn’t echoing someone else’s. I think I’m going to upvote it’s just for being the first one I’ve seen from you
  15. You should change your name to echo
  16. Because it’s a huge undertaking for something that’s only going to last a year or two or 5 or 10. Nothing will change with their currently being over 148 variants active in the world right now.
  17. The vaccine passports prove that the mandates are here to stay permanently.
  18. The Aussies are not wrong. A lot of my American friends agree with the push to Nuke China over unleashing covid on the world. Which I think is extreme, but I think a declaration of war wouldn't be too far over the line.
  19. They were 20 games above .500 They need a legit bullpen and a manager who doesn’t allow a pitcher to stay in the game until he gives up 6 in an inning while they’re in a playoff race.
  20. Came here expecting to see that PopCountry.... was so relieved to see some real country here... although a little older than I like...but real
  21. Noon and they’ll both be present, as they arrived in Vancouver last night.
  22. I hope you’re right. Barry seems much more willing to negotiate. Specifically the Barzal and Yamamoto deals stand out to me in recent history.
