  1. Gadj needs to prove himself this year in the preseason. If he doesn't look NHL ready, he will likely be waived...
  2. Do Gadj and McEwen have the wheels and IQ to make it in todays fast NHL? Will someone like Phil Du Guseppe get the spot? I am hoping we upgrade our fourth line right wing spot via free agency, and I hope that Gadj makes it through waivers. Gadj still has room to develop, but for McEwen, this is a sink or swiim season, I think...
  3. Miller Pete Garland (When the Canucks need a goal, send out this line...) Hog/Podkolzin Bo Beoser Pearson Dickinson Podkolsin/Hog Motte Sutter (Sign another good, big, fast player from free agent Bargain Bin.) To be determined in camp (13 forward.)
  4. Also, the Canucks depth at center isn't great. Who fills in if Sutter gets hurt?
  5. The fourth line doesn't seem solidified yet... Motte Sutter ______ After the Canucks sign Pete and Hughes, I am hoping they sign another right winger from the bargain bin or a good pickup from the waiver wire. Someone with size, strength, and experience, and who can play well on the third line when injuries occur...
  6. Yes, the (Miller Dickinson Garland) line is interesting...
  7. I like Jim Benning. But the old core was hung onto too long. The rebuild should have started earlier...
  8. I also like the idea of giving Motte a chance higher in the lineup. Your lines above are fine if Podkolzin needs some time to adjust into the NHL. It may take some time, but I think he is like a race horse, chomping at the bit to get out of his starting stall... However, if Coach Green decides to go with three scoring lines, I think Motte should be in the mix: Motte Pete Beoser (Motte provides speed and defense to top line.) ( But can Pete improve in the faceoff circle?) Dickinson Miller Garland (This line has gusto!) Pearson Bo Hoglander (This line works fine...) Highmore Sutter Podkolzin/ McEwen But if Podkolzin is ready to go, I would prefer a first line of: Podkolzin Pete Beoser (Podkolzin can help with his physicality, forecheck and backcheck, and maybe help Pete with faceoffs...) I am still hoping that Podkolzin gets an opportunity to try the center ice position, I think he could be an elite third line center...
  9. How about this: Miller Pete Garland Pod Bo Beoser Pearson Dickinson Hog
  10. I think that where coach Green decides to start Podkolzin is the key to the starting lineup. The coaches have to decide which line will be best for Podkolzin's development. Do they want to use Podkolzin in an offensive, forechecking role? Or do they want to use his defensive skills on a shutdown line and penalty kill. My guess is they will put him on one of the top two lines to take advantage of his offensive skills.
  11. I like your lineup. But your third line is a bit green and inexperienced. Hog Dickinson Podkolzin (This line may not be defensively ready to face top line competition right away.) Pearson Dickinson Hog (Is a line ready to go right away.)
  12. Maybe Poolman lacked confidence or didn't quite fit in with the Jets organization. These things happen sometimes... Hopefully he will fit in better with the Canucks and thrive along side our other young American stars like Brock Beoser and Quinn Hughes...
  13. Yes, Rathbone is incredibly skilled and exciting player. It would be disappointing to see him sent down to the AHL But if both Rathbone and Juolevi have good camps, the most logical thing to do is to send Rathbone down to the AHL. Also, I think that Juolevi's defensive game likely suits Myers better, as Myers is offensive minded, and likes to join the rush. If Rathbone does make the team, I think Rathbone would be play well with Hamonic or Poolman.
