  1. Regardless of what did or didn’t happen this trade deadline, this team is not a cup contender. I’ll continue to watch and cheer for them, but changes need to happen to this line up.
  2. Just the statement your making as a management group that bothers me. I didn’t expect it from this “ forward thinking group”. Reminds me of the old management.
  3. Can only carry 23, so he takes a spot no matter how you look at it. Just don’t understand the reasoning behind the decision, want to get younger and claiming him is not a big deal, but to give a younger guy a look at the nhl level is. Even if it’s in the press box. Now if he comes in a makes a big difference, then great, but to come and take a spot that a younger guy could fill from your prospects is more meaningful.
  4. They won’t get the chance now,as after claiming Richardson you have to play him now
  5. Richardson is not better than prospects, he’s a plug whose taken a chance away for one of your prospects. We’ve taken a guy who couldn’t crack the flames ,who would have been sent to the ahl. A distraction that doesn’t make your team better. This new management has said repeatedly that this team was going to get younger, why claim a 37 year old.
  6. Most 4th line players are borderline ahl/nhl guys, who are given a chance. Now you’ve taken that chance away by claiming a guy who’s 37 years old ,while on the other hand making a statement you want to get younger. Makes no sense.
  7. It’s a move that doesn’t make your team better, something that the old management would do. More of a distraction away from the fact that you haven’t really done anything to improve your team. And to say Richardson is better than the all of your current prospects is a slippery slope that can up costing you long term. It’s mismanagement of your current assets.
  8. Agree with that, internally your telling your prospects that they are not worthy of a chance. When watching that Lockwood kid skate, he would have been a perfect fit to play on the lamo line
  9. Motte was a winger on that line with lamo and highmore, Lockwood is a winger with speed. It made more sense to bring him up. Guess just have to see where Richardson plugs into the lineup. Maybe he’ll be the 3rd line center that Dickerson was supposed to be.
  10. Can’t think that way if you want your nhl team to be better, counterproductive.
  11. Really like the dermott in hamonic out,but I just don’t understand the Richardson claim off waivers, makes no sense.
  12. It’s just you have younger guys wanting a chance and you have now giving that chance to a 37 year old guy not in your system. That’s a statement your making.
  13. 100% agree, why claim Richardson and say you want to get younger. Give Lockwood a try for remaining of the season
  14. I’ve been a Canuck fan since 1980 and I would love them to make playoffs, but I’m also realistic. This lineup is overrated by us fans and if Demko was to get an injury, this team would be in big trouble. I get that waiting for the draft to make changes, but to claim a 37 year old guy off waivers thinking it’s improvement is what I expected from the last management group.
  15. This lineup is not good enough to win, if it wasn’t for DEMKO, Canucks would be at the bottom
  16. Funny, after Alvin talked on Sportsnet they switch to the boardroom segment and they didn’t even talk about what the Canucks did or didn’t do.... thinking everyone in the business is laughing at how bad our management have done.
  17. Liked the 27 year old Richardson, but with younger options in Abbotsford, this move is useless, makes no sense.
  18. Let’s bring in a 37 year old guy that can’t crack the flames roster to replace motte.....
  19. Bad coaching is a good indication of poor special teams. You can’t blame a terrible power play on lack of personal, it’s trying to do the unsuccessful, over and over again looking for better results.
  20. Would loved to see him do well, but missing training camp and the first 9 games is going to be a challenge for his timing.
  21. Head scratching day as Canucks decide on keeping older smaller defence man over a younger better skating one( Hunt over Juolevi). Just don’t understand why they make the decisions they do. This situation was a coaching issue as much as a player issue. The puzzle that is the Canucks defence, makes the fan base cringe. The scratching continues with the Hamonic situation, signing a guy who was a question mark, then to waive him is the general managers fault. Even if the reason is “personal”,that issue should have been resolved long before training camp. With the potential of this years team of making a impact, it seems that the coaching and management team, should be held accountable for what is lacking in the teams defence. Will the scratching stop or does the team fail on defence, first ten or so games should tell the tale.
