  1. They were in win now mode and they won 2 cups. GMs, like coaches, have a shelf life. And he's not GM, he's Pres. I think this is perfect
  2. They said on the radio it could be Jason Botterill. Not sure if I like that, but don't really know enough to have a valid opinion so kinda neutral if true.
  3. You're right actually. That team was tough, but when all the chips were on the table in the SCF against Boston the toughness disappeared.
  4. He's not the GM... he's the President Top young players aside, the Benning Era was probably the least successful Era in Canucks history.
  5. The fact that veteran hockey people like Boudreau and Rutherford are jumping at opportunities to work in Vancouver says something. Good times ahead i think.
  6. I've been very critical of FA in the past months but he is proving me wrong. There is no way JM will put up with meddling from FA, if it ever was true.
  7. This is awesome news. We sorely missed a president and now we have one with cup pedigree. We have respectable faces in the front office now. Aquaman finally gets it. We haven't had a regime like this since the Quinn Burke days, and now we still have to add one more piece for GM.
  8. I have a feeling it's the Pres because Steamer and Aquaman both said they will take their time finding a GM and for now they will assess the team as a group (Aqua steamer gear Johnson sedins) Who knows though
  9. Lol we had a long miserable run with rookie execs and rookie coaches. Now we bring in some vets and people complain about their age. No pleasing NuckNation lol
  10. Stan Smyl is gonna make this team tough again. He's sat back for too long watching the softest team in the league for too long. Up until the Bertuzzi Moore incident the Canucks were always tough gritty teams. That was the turning point. Bert got traded, enter the Sedins as the core pieces and ya we were very skilled and successful but we were always soft. And it's been downhill ever since. We had a few decent years with Rypien, Hordichuk, Raffi Torres but we got softer year after year and now we are Charmin soft. Hopefully this finally changes
  11. I'm still standin better then i ever did Lookin like a true survivor Feelin like a little kid BRUCE THERE IT IS
  12. Not a bad outing considering OEL and Hamonic aren't playing and we took a lot of stupid penalties. Can't believe this is the same team that I could barely watch last week
  13. I've Said it a few times and I'll say it again. What a difference a coach makes..JBs team or not, there is no proof Jimbo would have even hired Boudreau
  14. Benning undervalued coaching. Always bargain bin shopping, Willie, Green, re signing Green after a terrible season. That's on JB, coaching is important
  15. I agree but I could see Petey thriving in it. He's very smart away from the puck, especially in his rookie year. He had a lot of comparisons to Datsyuk, who won many Selkes. Sergei Fedorov also won Selkes and he was pure offense. That's the difference a good coach makes. Hopefully Boudreau can have a Scotty Bowman type of effect on our young players.
