[Signing] Ducks sign Alex Killorn
Your Time Is Now replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
They’ve got around 18 million to lock up in RFAs…don’t think getting to the floor was going to be a problem. This is a puzzling move. I would rather have signed him to more money, but way shorter term. And then flip him for some nice assets in the near future… -
[Signing] Ducks sign Radko Gudas

I think this contract is going to win the “Well that aged badly” award so far today… -
IMHO, the best way to clear out cap this summer and beyond is: 1. retain 2 million on Boeser and try to get a 2nd back for him at 4.5 (add a third if need be to get the 2nd back) 2. pair the 2nd with garland to get back whatever you can 3. trade Myers at next year’s deadline Anything else to rid the team of these 3 would be a pure miracle…

[Signing] Islanders re-sign Bo Horvat
Your Time Is Now replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I guess what I’m left puzzling about were those 6 year contracts that Bo and Austin Matthews got. Both of those look like terrible decisions now. It might have been nice having Bo play here for a few more years at 5.5. Wouldn’t feel so bad moving on from a 29 year old looking for big money. At any rate, glad we didn’t sign him for 8 by 8.5… -
I can barely watch this team play anymore, but checking in for the first time in a while, the first thing that enters my mind is: why this management group didn’t take whatever they could get for Miller, and then walk away from Boeser last year, might go down as the most puzzling decisions for this franchise in recent memory…(other than trading for OEL of course)…

[Rumour] Bo Horvat Trade/Contract Talks
Your Time Is Now replied to HOFsedins's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I’ve said it before, but Jiricek and Boone Jenner for Horvat would be fair and good for both sides. Columbus is really the only team that could naturally extend him. And those 2 pieces fill needs for us: RHD + 3rd line center… -
(Proposals) Horvat and Boeser trades
Your Time Is Now replied to CanuckFan1123's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Yeah, that seems like an insane deal for the Canucks. I think something a little more reasonable would be Bo to Columbus for Jiricek and Boone Jenner. Columbus might go for that, because with the emergence of Kent Johnson they would be pretty solid down the middle. In fact, with a Bo extension, they could make some noise in the East. For us, we get that RHD prospect we so desperately need. Plus Jenner is signed at a reasonable cap hit for the next few years, and is a perfectly decent third line center. Once we get out from under Meyer’s contract next year, and move away from one of Boeser or Garland, things could be looking much better in a year and a half. Only downside is Miller has to play center. But that’s what you get for prioritizing him over Horvat… -

Why do I feel like this would be par for the course for this team. Sit on your hands long enough… -

Can’t beat good teams. I hope management doesn’t get lulled into trying to make the playoffs…again
