  1. Sad to see this forum go with all the great fans here chatting together and sharing their thoughts! A place where we can speak our minds about our hockey team. With 44 pages of messages here tells you how important this forum is to all of us!!! Hope to see everyone at the new forum and thanks to the person hosting it for all of us!!
  2. Good choice and congrats to Huggie!!! Now we can focus on hockey and to make sure we have a strong start of the season!!!
  3. Agree and we had pretty solid big D's in the back!! I remember both Ohlund and Jovocop dishing out big hits!!! Miss those days and that is what we need in our current roster.
  4. Agree Brock was playing no touch hockey the entire season!!! Hence why he sucked playing away from the puck!!! However, let's hope he changes his game to be affective. This year is his last year to really show case that he can play in the top 2 lines.
  5. Speaking of Dougie Halward........Kyle Burroughs look alike!!!
  6. Hahah forgot we had Irbe back in the days as well!!
  7. I love Pat Quinn as a Coach and also GM making a huge trade with St Louis in 1991 in which really brought the team together and making it far in the Stanley Cup run. Every trade Quinn made our team stronger and stronger. St Louis in 1991 Trade: We received: Geoff Courtnall Robert Dirk Sergio Momesso Cliff Running 1992 5th round pick We gave: Garth Butcher Dan Quinn.
  8. Our team fought hard...I remember seeing Linden's face was just brutally bruised up...and definitely that dirty hit should have been a suspension and who knows what would have been the outcome of it. I remember the entire series it felt like the Ref's was on NYR side all the time calling penalties on us and not them.
  9. Haha yeah I left him out because he missed that open net to tie the game in game 7.....jk!!! I didn't add him in there because he was under 200lbs. But agree he could have made the list of big forwards.
  10. Just looking back at the Stanley Cup Finals back in 1994!!! We were stacked with toughness and big forwards and we made it to the Stanley Cup Finals: Forwards: Sergio Momesso 6.3 215lbs Gino Odjick 6.3 224lbs Tim Hunter 6.2 200lbs Shawn Antoski 6.4 235lbs Trevor Linden 6.4 220lbs Roman Oksiuta 6.3 230lbs Greg Adams 6.4 196lbs Defense: Adrian Aucoin 6.2 215lbs Dave Babych 6.1 225lbs Jeff Brown 6.2 204lbs Jassen Cullimore 6.5 235lbs Gerald Diduck 6.1 216lbs Bret Hedican 6.2 210lbs Dana Murzyn 6.2 208lbs Jiri Slegr 6.1 210lbs How the game has changed so much with speed and skills now. Thought I share this video as it was quite to enjoy to watch the good old hockey days back then!! But it still hurts we lost in game 7...similar vs the Bruins. Twice we came so close in winning it!!
  11. Ok we just threw $775K cap space out the window when I rather grow some of our own young talents into the roster since we already have a good mix of some vets and younger D's. We don't need to add another Vet!!
  12. Ok so I am reading that we want to win now and I guess we can win with Irwin right? Nothing against Irwin...but with limited money to spend on we could have done a lot better don't you think?
  13. 1 year is a waste of our Canuck time....we seen this too much!!! Money could have been better spent!!!
  14. Look at who we have on D right now that are vets!!! And Irwin will be another D that we will go through in and out of the line up again is your point...so why are we going in circles with this type of signing!!!
  15. What happened to getting younger Alvin!!!! Not a fan on this signing!!! We need better this!! This signing doesn't make any sense to me right now!! With limited spending and you do this kind of signing...awful!!!
  16. He is passed is prime and you can tell when he was playing for Toronto in the playoffs. He is no where the impact player he was back then with STL. I wouldn't pay that much for him and Toronto is smart to pass on him!!
  17. This is so far the best unrestricted signing by Alvin to date!!!! Took you that long to have one strong signing for us finally!!!! Hope to see more signing or trades to strengthen our team!!!
  18. Don't know much about this player but let's hope he is what he says he is going to be...speedy..energy...shut down defensively...and has the occasionally offensive touch!! If he is all that then this is a good signing.
  19. Ok I didn't realize his skating is bad...lol!!! Make sense now in their choice of signing Soucy over Cal.
  20. For that kind of money and his age, I would have rather signed Luke Schenn back and saved some $$$ at the same time.
  21. Nice pick up on Soucy!!! Now let's get Adam's Foote's son 6ft 5inch stature and we will have the tallest D in the league!!!
  22. I was just thinking about that too!!! Nothing against Willander but I thought there were better players we could have went with.
  23. He's only good is when he plays and use his size 6ft 7inches to his advantage but unfortunately he plays more like he is 5feet 7inches on most nights!!
