  1. Apologies, had a bit of a health scare over the weekend. Gonna take a sec before I start the game.
  2. I made a post in the Miller trade thread, but the upcoming UFA market is going to be really barren outside of guys like Toews and Larkin, the latter I see re-signing with Detroit or the team he’s dealt to. Every team would give JT 7x8 after last season, so he has value around the league as an extended sign-and-trade type of situation.
  3. I decided to look at it, and the best upcoming UFA's are: Pastrnak - Re-signs Larkin - Re-signs or signs after traded at deadline Tarasenko - Re-signs O'Reilly - Re-signs Barbashev - Open market, could re-sign if Vegas makes space Klingberg - Open market Pavelski - Likely open market, could re-sign Domi - Open market Krejci - Europe Kane - Re-signs/signs with Rangers in the offseason Bergeron - Retires or re-signs Killorn - Open market Bunting - Open market Compher - Open market That's a pretty depleted group. Miller is more valuable than everyone on that list except for Pastrnak, and he's going to be paid $5 million less per year. If you don't want to pay $6+ million for Max Domi, I can see a lot of contending teams looking for a guy like JT to make a big push. Heck, why not a 3 way deal? Van trades: JT Miller Van receives: Heinola, pick(s) Detroit trades: Dylan Larkin (who's priced himself out of that market) Detroit receives: JT Miller (to close out the rebuild) Winnipeg trades: Heinola + pick(s) Winnipeg receives: Larkin (Signed to replace Dubois once he leaves next offseason)
  4. If it's true that Miller's being scratched for trade-related-reasons tomorrow, then I wonder what our lineup tomorrow looks like in Dallas. Kuz - Petey - Beau Garland - Raty - Boeser (see what the kid can do?) Podz - Dries - Kravtsov Joshua - Aman - Studnicka Hughes - Burroughs Wolanin - Myers Breezer - Juulsen PP1 Kuz - Dries - Beau Hughes - Petey PP2 Podz/Kravtsov - Raty - Garland Boeser - Wolanin Man, our lineup is looking depleted.
  5. I'm spitballing, but if she has insight on the Devils, Haula has nearly identical cap to Miller a 50%...
  6. There aren't any good UFAs this year, and I bet there would be many teams who would pay 7x8 for JT on the open market. We can still market him as a sign-and-trade imo.
  7. I know Shayna's a writer for TheAthletic, but does she have actual ties to the team? Is there any reason we should believe this?
  8. I see so many parallels between his rise and that of Mo Seider. Here's hoping he turns into another top guy, regardless of who he plays for. I like his style.
  9. I get where you're coming from, but the bad teams should be able to get good players in the draft. The way it should be in my opinion, is a one-lottery system where the bottom 6 teams have 12% each, and the next 4 teams get a 7% chance each at the number one pick. This way there's a little incentive to get into the bottom 6 and even bottom 10, but not enough of a difference to be woefully bad like Chicago.
  10. Petey better win the damn Selke. He's earned that and more this year. Edit: Meant the Lady Byng
  11. I meant to mention after Monday's Abby game, but Raty very nearly scored a Lacrosse goal in the opening minutes. Goalie barely got his shoulder on it and made a very good save. It's good to see that even though he's not playing tentative even though he doesn't like how he's played.
  12. Someone's going to get injured from being cold after one of these asininely long challenges.
  13. I can start the game with 10 but it makes things less fun. If nobody joins I can start around Sunday?
  14. I think it’s a really big deal that Podz is on Raty’s line tonight. He hasn’t been running as well as he has in the past, but he’s a very similar player to Raty. I think the two of them could be very important players for us going forwards, and I think Podz is a very good leader for the kid to learn from.
