  1. Damn, I wasn't expecting this. Sure it's probably warranted, but he's a star player with no history.
  2. The team is committed to winning over the next couple years, and moving a 99pt two way C for picks/prospect doesn't accomplish that.
  3. Imagine being the Rangers PP coach. Having to pick 5 of Panarin, Fox, Kreider, Zibanejad, Tarasenko, Kane, Chytil, Kakko, Lafreniere, Miller, Schneider must be hilariously difficult.
  4. Eh, all the Canucks medical staff can do is refer him to a surgeon. Unless they committed blatant malpractice, like telling him to play when he couldn't, then it's not the team that's liable.
  5. Friedman said that Colton will likely be a cap casualty this summer, and he fits our needs perfectly as a gritty bottom 6 C with untapped offensive upside. Assuming he'd sign for ~2.5, would you deal Rathbone + Pearson (LTIR relief) for him?
  6. The funny thing is Samsonov played really well for most of the game, the mistakes he made were once it had gotten out of hand. He had a number of really good saves while Tavares was invisible.
  7. Man that Gus for Talbot deal sucked. What a fleecing
  8. Hot take, Isles get through here. Sorokin is an absolute beast and Bo will likely show what made him captain clutch in the bubble, especially with Barzal coming back.
  9. Rangers get by now on goaltending, Devils get the playoff experience that'll bring them to a cup run next year
  10. Rathbone has more value in a deal given he's already played NHL games and has performed adequately at this level. I'm surprised the Rangers aren't qualifying him, though, they still have two contract slots and he seems like a decent bet to make the show someday as a bottom six workhorse.
  11. The standing ovation Garrett got was absolutely incredible, and the noise in the building may have been the loudest since the Sedin’s retirement. What a man, and I wish him all the best. Who replaces him? I really hope KB3 but I don’t think he’d take the pay cut
  12. Man that trade really sucked for me, was easily my favourite player. I still have hope that I’ll get his signature eventually. I won’t sell this, I’ll be framing it once I buy a Podz or Hronek jersey to replace it
  13. I’m so glad I staked out my spot at the blue carpet, I got 21 (!!!) signatures on my Bo skate jersey, including Babych, McLean and Rota! It was such a cool experience seeing everyone in suits and plain clothes and just have a conversation with them. I congratulated Breezer on his contract and he was noticeably touched, clearly it meant a lot after his long path to the pros. I feel really awful for Pearson, the guy has a huge brace on his left hand and answered “we’ll see” when I asked if he would be able to play next year. Mikheyev’s handler kept trying to push him to leave at the end and he just wouldn’t stop signing autographs xD The security supervisor just started laughing while he held the door open for him for a solid 4-5 minutes. All in all I got: Aman, Wolanin, Mikheyev, Brisebois, Garland, Studnicka, Kuzmenko, OEL, Myers, Miller, Hughes, Dries, Podz, Hronek, Pearson, Boeser, Hirose and Delia for current guys, then Babych, McLean and Rota for alumni.
  14. I thought long and hard about Bear but I ended up going with Joshua.
  15. I usually cheer for the team regardless even though I'm on team tank, but my Fantasy team has Korpisalo and my opponent has Demko. Go *barf* Kings *barf* Go
  16. Marchand - Bergeron - Debrusk Zacha - Krejci - Pastrnak Bertuzzi - Coyle - Hall Frederic - Nosek/Greer - Hathaway Orlov - McAvoy Lindholm - Carlo Grzelcyk - Forbort Ullmark Swayman Yowch
  17. I was there with my girlfriend who works just around the corner. I missed the event by a minute or so while walking the block, and after we ended up stopping by to see what was going on while Mr. Schmidt was being loaded on the stretcher and Gosal was being handcuffed. I regret it, she saw way too much and takes that stuff to heart. If you watch the video circulating online (please don't, I highly recommend against it), you'll see it was an absolutely disturbed scene, especially since NOBODY stepped in to help the guy as he bled out on the ground, and nobody called 911. I seriously wish I was there when it happened, I feel like I could've stepped in and applied pressure to the wound at the very least, I have that much first-aid training. I understand Fight, Flight or Freeze but everyone standing around to pull their phones out only to film... shows a complete lack of respect to the victim. I'm horrified. F**k you Inderdeep Singh Gosal. I hope you rot in hell and feel every ounce of pain you caused to this family. There's a GoFundMe and a memorial at the site set up for his family, although I'm sure that's not much solace. Edit: Mods, can we pin this? I don't want the GoFundMe to be lost in the thread.
  18. I’m very happy to say I started those Reimer chants as soon as the second period began, all it took was a few tries and the Larscheiders joined in. Very fun night
  19. I’m definitely intrigued but also really bad at the game
