  1. Again Boeser was so bad tonight. Too bad. He showed so much promise in his 1st year. I know injuries and family issues have probably affected him, but if he doesn't get it together (on another team), his NHL career is done. There's no way the Canucks are going to sign him at his expected dollars, and there's no way anyone else is going to want him for anything more than a 4th line winger. Maybe he gets it together at some point, but if not, what a waste of a potentially great career.
  2. It's so refreshing to come to the PGT after a great win! Last night's win showed us what this team can do. So many on our team were SO good, especially the big guys; Petey's penalty kill and fore and back checking were Petey at his best. And Miller...what a leader! And Halak did was Halak was supposed to do. I'm looking forward to tonight.
  3. They're definitely better than average defensively. Last night the forwards did everything with authority; passes were on the mark, dump and chase was fast, and creating turnovers was eye candy. So many times from our blue line forward, they took the puck away at will.
  4. Hard try right out of the gate and maintained the pace for 60 minutes against the best team in the league. What's not to like! Well, the refereeing for sure! Loved the forecheck, fast on the dump and chase, and how they stood the Avs up at the blueline. And then, there's Halak....Great Game!!
  5. I've been saying this forever. I like Bo as a player when he's working, but I always think a guy with a dynamic personality has a better chance of motivating his team. Also, on the ice, Miller is by far the better player. It wouldn't bother me at all to see Bo traded. There would be good return and who knows, he may do a lot better elsewhere.
  6. I don't think Miller and Schenn are soft. I do think too many of our leaders are soft, particularly Horvat. I loved Hank, but soft leader, Bo's a good hockey player, but a soft leader. Give Miller the Captaincy to make a statement; we're not soft anymore, we get pissed, we play with emotion, we want to win!
  7. That 1st period, absolute crap. Our defense can be so bad; mostly defensemen, but aren't forwards also supposed to be responsible defensively? However, mid 2nd to the end of the 3rd was exciting. It was good hockey, and that's why I watch. Mistakes, yep,bad plays, yep, missed calls, yep.....but it was fun hockey. And I believe our coaching staff will figure out how to deal with the 1st period flop.
  8. Why does it take until the 3rd, when you're down, to start playing energetic hockey? And why does Brock Boeser play like he doesn't care? Getting so tired of his lackluster play. Hey Bo, not your greatest fan, but nice goals tonight. And Myers, if you weren't so tall you wouldn't get those poor calls. That was a fun 3rd period and really the pk wasn't that bad. Good 1 point.
  9. I think Ovechkin is an amazing hockey player, but if he supports that murderous, crazy, s.o.b. Putin, I would prefer he never set skates again on NHL ice. How can you possibly accept someone who supports a dicator who'll kill anyone just to be more powerful. Ovi F...off
  10. That would be my choice. Everyone knows Miller is the leader on this team. He's almost always all in, while Bo often looks like he's lost out there.
  11. You are correct. It just drives me crazy that we lost 3 very good players for no return.
  12. It's going to be a difficult decision when the time comes. I don't think it's right now.
  13. I don't this new management team, unlike Benning, lets good players go with no return (Toffoli, Tanev, Markstrom).
  14. Like you DLC, I'm a big Miller fan, maybe even moreso. I think, right now he is as important to the team as Petey, Quinn and Demko; again, that's right now, and I don't think we let him go. I know this is unpopular to a lot of fans, but I'd trade Bo for a great return and make Miller Captain. Waiting for the negative feedback.
  15. It's kind of nice to be at this point in the season and hear very little mention of tanking.
  16. Yeah, some see it as immature; not me. He wears his heart on his sleeve and his emotions drive him to be better. I think we're lucky to have him in Vcr when his talent is peaking
  17. I agree with BB, this guys a leader. My guess is he'd be great in the locker room.
  18. I can see how you would consider it sulky and immature. I look at it a little different, rather disappointed and angry. Bo is a great hockey player, but imo he lacks the emotion needed to generate energy in his teammates. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bo traded and Millerthe Captain next year. The guy is a leader.
  19. It seems he can be that in the playoffs, but he's nowhere right now when we need him to get there.
  20. Been saying this since last year and he's become a better leader since. Captain material!
  21. I so agree. That was horrible. When Miller scored, a bit of a hurrah, when Tavares scored the crowd went wild. And then, the greatest one Matthews scores twice and it's like the only audience for this game is his family.
  22. I gotta add Pearson. Sure, he's still Pearson, but his effort was solid.
  23. Man, that was so much fun. I laughed aloud a few times after Demko's scrambles. He let in 4, but the way we were outchanced, it could have been a lot worse. Defense was generally good; Hamonic being better every game and Myers doing really well. Miller, wow, being Miller, had a few turnovers, but what a leader, who with his passion, should definitely be Captain. I really like like Horvat and of course, Henrik was amazing, but it's time this team had a heavy Captain who is willing to lead with grit, energy and desire.
  24. Totally agree, Myers creates so many turnovers, and Boeser, just lazy and uninspiring.
