  1. That is exactly my point. You can't fault someone for missing Jimbo (although I'm sure it was a joke), just as much as you can't judge the new management. There hasn't been enough time to provide a fair comparison. Comprendes mi amigo?
  2. Oh you're preaching to the choir. I believe the best long term choice for the team is to trade JT. I just don't see us signing him to something that won't hurt us. I also don't see any benefit in extending this state of uncertainty. Miller is one unfortunate injury away from us possibly not getting anything for him.
  3. Well to be fair, this management hasn't really done anything to put themselves in any better repute. Jimbo's biggest downfall was Green (puke). Other than that, he was average.
  4. Yeah, not happening, unless its ridiculous amount for 5 years. Miller is going to get paid, and deservingly so. If the Canucks are keeping him, that contract will certainly not be pretty.
  5. Most likely size and skating, the latter having more weight. Very hard to find a player his size succeed with a mediocre skating.
  6. Sorry, I didn't mean it in a factual, historical sense. I meant it as, we're all here looking for some extra excitement a la JT Miller trade, or moving up the draft pick... and management deflates our excitement and hope by completely going the other way. e.g. Vancouver Canucks trade the 15th overall for 2 2nd round picks... Great, we all tuned in for this?
  7. Everything at this point is rumor and speculation since nothing has been confirmed. It will also be that way until a firm trade materializes... that is the nature of this business. Hence why, although some are credible, "insiders" spin-off bull$&!# with some truth to keep the readers interested and clicking. Your scenario may be true, where there has not been any good offers... or, it could just equally be true that some solid offers have been made, but the Canucks management are trying to constantly up the ante. That is usually the case when you hold a valuable commodity... you just have to be careful you don't run out of time, and you don't burn bridges along the way. Regardless of what the scenario is, we're just stating there is nothing in this scenario where JT should be humbled. No one really knows what type of offer is on the table, or how many. The Canucks Management holding back, for whatever reason it may be, does not equate to a lack of interest in J.T. around the league.
  8. Lou doing a troll job on the Canucks, having a good chuckle with Gary B. Nothing to see here folks!
  9. I don't think it was ever confirmed the management is shopping JT, and even if they were, them holding back for the perfect trade doesn't mean there is a lack of interest for JT. If you are hard on keep Miller camp, there must be a reason or many, and I'm sure other GMs in the league also value that in JT. At this point, it's probably the Canucks management holding back more than anything.
  10. I mean I get it. Their first blockbuster move with a blue chip commodity. JT trade will most likely dictate the new managements success, or failure. They're probably waiting on the perfect trade... but hopefully they don't burn all bridges.
  11. Haha I get the Miller crowd really wants him to stay, but Vancouver not trading Miller (so far) has nothing to do with the lack of interest on JT which you're hoping provides a humbling experience for JT. Maybe the right deal has not come in yet, or the new management is waiting on the homerun trade as this will reasonably be what determines their foreseeable success.
  12. GTFO with this thing you call logic. It's tainting peoples narrative.
  13. All business until the contract is signed. At this point, nobody knows his intention. Furthermore, if he truly wanted to re-sign, what are the conditions to it? I'm sure he will be happy to re-sign for 10 million at 8 years, but are we willing to offer that, and if so, does it benefit the organization? Not saying he will, won't, wants, does not want. I'm just saying people tend to discredit others for the sake of pushing their narrative when they don't have any further evidence than what the other party is putting in front.
  14. Or what if management knows they can't re-sign Miller, whether due to the details of the contract being too rich or Miller camp advising they will hit FA next summer? Just a simple hypothetical question. At what point do we say it is a "bad" deal if we know he is walking next summer?
  15. Not calling you out, just pointing out that Rutherford does not need to be a yes man if his vision aligned with Aqua from the start. Maybe that is why he was hired, and Aqua wanting to generate playoff revenue.. woops I mean compete year in year out at all cost also fits JR'S track record of his management style.
  16. The team the management has built. Good to draft at a garbage position but not good enough to be a convincing playoff team. We're not pro tankers, because we will support the team no matter what, including the bottom dwelling days of a proper rebuild. Just can't support this mediocrity year after year just to get a sniff of playoff revenue. Was fun to see our young stars making recoveries and great strides. I hope we build for a solid future, we sure have great pieces for it.
  17. Poster probably meant opportunistic on the ice, but I agree... No one should ever have to witness the word intelligent beside Evander Kane.
