Seems to me you undervalue Lockwood to make your case that it was a good trade for the Canucks which isn't necessary because they're 2 very different players but both very good and needed attributes. I regard keeping the puck out of your net on the penalty kill is almost as equal as scoring a goal both contribute to winning games the same which Motte was great at and Lockwood will be as well imo.
Imo you're definitely not showing enough respect for Motte or Lockwood when Motte was at his best he was the best Canuck a lot of nights being extremely important fir the penalty kill was their best at it by far, the best forchecker which in today's game is very important causing turnovers and drawing penalties and scoring timely goals and with Lockwood he could bring the same attributes but with much more physically, could've been our best penalty killer, waswilling to drop the gloves and could be a better goal scorer than Motte
As far as scoring goes or potential to be more than a 4th liner goes come on man Lockwood was on a 40 goal scoring pace in Abbotsford which definitely shows his upside is definitely higher than a for sure carrer 4th liner at best that you seem to think lol.
Anyway I think we can like this trade from the Canucks side which I do but at the same time also show Lockwood some respect and not act like he was a nobody with as low value as you seem to like to state.
