  1. I thought this new management group said at sometime said they use stats. I wonder because there is a very good website that has stats that is easy to find and use. They signed Miller for that elephant contract and evidently thought they didn't have to pay Horvat as much. Here is a comparison of the two careers; From Hockey reference; Regular Season Export Data Glossary Scoring Goals Per Game Point Shares Adjusted Player Tm Pos From To Active GP G A PTS +/- PIM EV PP SH GW S S% TOI G A PTS S OPS DPS PS G A PTS Bo Horvat VAN C 2014 2023 9 618 200 215 415 -67 200 123 67 10 25 1429 14.0 11444 0.32 0.35 0.67 2.31 31.8 10.9 42.7 242 250 492 J.T. Miller TOT LW/C 2012 2023 11 683 187 308 495 26 357 133 50 4 37 1296 14.4 11640 0.27 0.45 0.72 1.90 38.2 13.1 51.3 220 354 574 It seems to me that Horvat not only paralleled Miller and the mostly played on better teams, but Horvat should have been seen as better. Still Horvat should be seen as worth more. Bet they don't do anything and wait until the draft because they want to give The Bookie, their friend the best team possible and then use the negative press, they think it would be negative for the player, as leverage to get him to sign at the last minute so there isn't a Gaudreau or Tkachuk fan response. I hope they looked at the fan response in Calgary that Johnny Hockey got and he did worse than just moving, he nixed the deal at the last minute. 8 million for those stats. Horvat - 9+ easy Pettersson should get 14+ mil a season based on their estimations.
  2. This idea is not about running the team, Manchester United had fans influence their team. This is about having a voice that management might hear. Most fans had comments in forums about odd transactions that they disagreed with before and after they happened. Management is still saying fans do not want a rebuild of this losing culture, fans want instant wins, just wins, competitive losses, most blamed the coach for losing, and maybe go for a banner. Sure there is a lot of chatter on forums or media shows but that can be ignored as media creating imaginary stories and forums/texts have not been read so they don't know. They want fans to be passive and controlled They may read these but they can always just ignore them. Again this is not about running the team. But maybe, just maybe having a little influence on a decision or two.
  3. There may be surprises. Rutherford did said agents were calling about this, so whose agents? Pretty sure it won't be some other team's player agent's.
  4. That would not be new would it. Lemieux and Lindros, I am pretty sure others have expressed that too, Dubois only a couple of years later, Tkachuk, Gaudreau, Nash, Kesler it does happen. Would that not be a hoot if he came out and said he would got to Europe if drafted by another team than the Canucks.
  5. You mean he hasn't been caught? Doesn't matter now because the NHL backs gambling but what if it was more than just gambling, what if there was .... enhancers? Already proved he would break rules. The Bookie, tank with him and the team will lose out on any lottery draft pick because he may have had fixed a game, that IS what stealth tanking is after all. Some of these pressers sure get edited eh? Any player video apart from two players? Any rumored player discontent? JR did say he was getting calls from agents. Agents don't just call about this stuff unless there are real issues and player concerns.
  6. For years before this under Benning's tenure the media were backing Benning for all they were worth, a 7 - 0 loss would be all about how hard X player played or how much promise Y prospect would help the team and how the injuries were the excuse so it wasn't the management's fault even to the part of a player leaving within 24 hours of receiving the Canuck contract offer, he didn't like the smell of the city! What crap that was. It was simply a insulting offer and the player was naïve in negotiation practices of offer counter offer and the Canucks knew he had just a small window to accept or take the other offer, they knew but no, "he didn't like the smell of the city" YA, Bruce There It Is. How can you even think that? They told you what to think! You can't know good from bad your a fan.
  7. Took it out of context, I thought you were referring to the standings. There is a real chance for DFL, the next 4 games could put the team within a few points.
  8. Arizona won. 4 points back of the Nux now. IF the team was to lose to Chicago they would be 3 points back And Columbus as well then 5 points DFL is a real possibility or at least 2nd last Tocchet was the coach when Tampa tanked for Stamkos
  9. Florida, Nashville, Arizona, NJD until this year, Carolina, Anaheim Lots of southern teams may be listed as worth a lot but many aren't very solvent with the NHL through it's subsidiaries holding big loans. If you can remember or even know, Nashville bought 6000 of their own tickets and gave them out to meet subsidy requirements. Teams are allowed to do this because the tickets are used for marketing. For awhile Florida gave free tickets after the game started if you had a driver's licence and Arizona was giving away a car each game. Used to be buy a ticket and get a free hotel room. Huge numbers of fans would follow and it was cheaper to go Arizona for a game than to buy 4 red zone ticket and parking at a Canucks game, flight included. Also during the Coyotes bankruptcy court case Bettman testified that there is only one entity that owned all the franchises and no competition between franchises. Like the WWF/WWW, an entertainment business. It is in the public realm because of Arizona law. Buried now by millions of astro surfed comments but it is there, maybe Goldwater still have the court minutes.
  10. You have to attach blame where it belongs. It is not JR's fault that many fans are attacking the messenger and not the architect. This has been an issue with this fanbase for a long time appointing blame on the wrong people. I begin to wonder if any plans here are even by the team or what is good for the NHL, it certainly allows southern teams into the playoffs longer and I can't believe that execs get suddenly so stupid when they cross the 49th. Dynasties in the south but if up in the boonies, one and done cup runs with at least a decade out of the playoff picture every second cycle up north. Southern teams still are a financial concern to the money pits in Canada. They make more and Canadian teams pay less compensation especially if tough US markets get more fans in the door.
  11. Miller and Petey play way less than some star players in the league. It was ridiculous to compare a 35 yr old guy with a 24 yr old for ice time. Hey Captain Obvious the older guy needs less ice time. And he should have looked TOI up first, Petey and Miller have been just at the 20 minute mark mostly thanks to PP time and when the goalie is pulled. He want 2 minutes less, don't pull the goalie. As noted who on this team is big enough to play like they did and would the rules even allow it anymore? How much more defensive can they get, there are usually 5 guys trying to block shots within 10 feet of the net. Unless they go full neutral zone trap but then they don't have the players for that either. A one man forecheck? One more comment he made, he liked the way the team played 6 on 5. He thought they out played a lot of teams, DUH!
  12. They never mentioned a cup, they said fans want a banner and wins and a competitive team. Just like Benning said except the Banner thing. They did the thinking for the fans
  13. He said enough He said Allvin is in charge of the team. That kind of means trades as well. That would fit because the actions have been opposite what Rutherford has said. Funny that Hogs and Pods in the minors is considered bad by Allvin. I thought the general consensus was time in the minors was a good thing and his statements kind of reinforced that idea until he stated the opposite about Hogs and Pod. So much double talk. And of course ignoring the fan base totally, telling the fans what fans want.
  14. Don't think they will make any trades now because that would be cutting Trocchet's feet out from under him, Everything they have said will be proven to be a lie or a scheme to platicate fans, Horvat gets the 9.5 mil 8 years with NMC because they think the cap will absorb any overages. They do about Miller's why not Horvat's?
  15. Someone asked about media statements after the presser, Considering it was publicly aired I guess it is okay to post it here. Listen at 1:18 on. And I hope those folks don't get banned. This is likely to be censored on this forum.
  16. I am sure the NHL sent out a "no comments about the Canucks" to all NHL team's players. But I wonder what they think of this Club Chaos? Even a "I am glad I am not there" would be indictment
  17. He won't be traded now, there is no way Allvin will crippled his coach, likely no trades at all or of little significance 8 years, 9.5 million with a NMC If Horvat wants to stay, Trocchet has 3 months until draft day when the Canucks trade his rights a week before draft day for a 4th round pick.
  18. During the Pearson presser Rutherford states he doesn't talk to the players, Allvin does. During the Trocchet introduction Allvin states he hasn't talked to the players. W*F? No communication between management and players except during exit interviews at the end of the season? Talk the talk but Walk the talk? So much disrespect for fans, we are all just dummies with fat wallets to be suckered.
  19. Here comes the 8 year 9.5 million dollar offer with a NMC for Horvat. There is no way Allvin will cripple his brand new choice for coach by trading Horvat, that is if Horvat wants to stay. Rutherford already stated managements position on the cap going up so it won't hurt the team. He was behind the drape Censorship for sure and probably in full contain mode now. Watch for sports shows to start altering their opinions to "look they need a chance", "it would have been bad if they let Horvat walk" especially from Dahli and any other shows that Rogers controls
  20. Gonchar teaching defence via video? How does he teach a 5'11" guy to play like a 6'3" guy? One is much bigger, heavier and likely stronger with a much longer reach. Club Chaos, Allvin runs the show and he has since being hired, Rutherford confirmed that and so did Allvin. They are still saying we want a banner not which one or when or how or with who on the team. Can't find the presser on the Canucks website
