I enjoyed the game last night and it seemed like it finally clicked for them. Like you, it doesn't change anything about the direction the team needs to gofor me, nor will it change for management because the bo/miller situation needs to be resolved before the deadline and that will forge the new direction

We all want the best for the team. Our shared trauma manifests with different scars and different healing options but in the end we just want to to be united in a shared victory.
Except for mark messier fans.

He got caught in no man's land often as well, not pressuring the puck carrier and not clearing the net. I'm just not seeing much improvement in him and he lacks burrough's physicality and willingness to get into the play. Maybe he'll improve but others have looked better.

I don't feel that excited after this game. Kings looked tired and no jump. But that's what better teams do, less helter, less skelter and more belter. As others have said its about consistency and Vegas is a big challenge.

Equaled our winning streak!

Mclennan must be feeling like he's in the playoffs tonight.

No but also Boeser wouldn't have scored if it weren't for Dries' effort. There's a reason why he gets an assist on the play.
It definitely was dries all the way but smart to tap it. I think it may have gone in anyway though when viewed from the straight on angle.

I understand the argument for Martin, but if this is really Demko's team you've got to let him work through it at some point regardless of how the season goes. It's a team game and while goaltending is critical to a team's success I don't think it's as black and white as laying the failure or success at the feet of a particular goaltender. At least not in this case.
I guess there's no perfect time to do it, earlier beats later though i wouldn't be doing it if my seat was hot.
The Canucks really have a habit of doing this though with goalies though. When Auld was on fire, they went back to Cloutier. When Schneider was too they went to Luongo. It's certainly justifiable but then you look at goalies who get hot like Binnington, Giguere and Kipprusoff and you sometimes wonder if the Canucks make the wrong call. Then again some goalies get hot and go nowhere. More surprised by the lack of Burroughs.

That's a tough one because despite his record, Demko is still this team's starter and everyone on that teams knows it. For better or worse, regardless of how things play out, if the idea is to keep Demko instead of trading him they need to keep giving him rope.
It's not as if Martin's played amazing either, better than Demko is fine for a backup but contest also matters. Demko's coming in with a GAA of 4.02 and SV% of .877,, Martin's coming in with GAA of 3.49 and a SV% of .898. Neither tender is playing amazing, one is just compensated as a backup while the other is the starter.
Goal scoring matters too, Demko simply hasn't had the run support Martin's been getting as the Canucks have scored 29 goals with Demko in 11 games, and 29 goals with Martin in 6 games. In a sense Demko's getting the Halak treatment, the Canucks barely scored for Halak and for whatever reason Martin's gotten much more run support in a smaller sample size. Demko has 44 goals against in 11 games played, Martin has 21 against in 6. 21x2=42. Now, that last bit is theoretical spitballing but as of today Martin really hasn't been that much better in terms of GAA.
I'm pointing all this out because folks tend to latch on to whichever goaltender has been able to deliver wins. Martin's delivered on wins at the end of the day, this is true, but Demko's been scapegoated for the rest of the team to a degree. Just wait til Martin inevitably has a stretch of poor games, folks will turn on him too.
I think that's quite valid but since we can still count our wins on one hand I'm a bit surprised we're not doing anything we can for wins like playing Martin (or playing Burroughs).

If management is telling Boudreau to play Stillman, they need to be fired...out of a cannon. If it's Boudreau's decision, maybe it's time for him to take a seat from the press box and watch Tyler Myers
0 points for Stillman this season and more importantly only 1 win vs the ducks and that was a defence optional night.
Almost feel sorry for demko.
Updated lines, no changes for kings.
Changes for canucks (why?)

Why sit burroughs. Team is so much better with him. Plus we won last game - why change it?
It's stuff like this that makes me want bruce to go and embrace the tank. I'm 99% there much like my atheist/agnostic %

Thanks.
While there a million factors out there, the Canucks are 1-3 after every previous win. It is interesting that their only win was a game where there were no changes to the forwards or blueline. Canucks have had a lot of injuries but there's something to be said for not changing a winning team too.

Calling a win if D looks like last game and the D is played like in Buffalo.
Calling a loss if Stillman is in.
Canucks have only won game with Stillman in the line-up, vs the last placed Ducks.

Didn't you just post that. I see Burrz on the bottom pair. And Lazar in for Dry would be great. Tougher, good on faceoffs.
Sorry that was last games. I put that up but it always changes until the reporters tweets. Latest one from morning skate has Stillman-Myers and then Rathbone-Burroughs yuck.

Radio: SN650
Overview:
The Canucks return home from an disappointing road-trip ready to face the LA Kings. For the Canucks to climb up the standings they'll need to start putting together wins and a win tonight would match their longest streak of the season so far. Bo Horvat continued his goal scoring, now only 1 game off the league lead but some encouraging signs came from Buffalo with 3 of the 4 lines scoring plus a goal from the defence.
LA are coming off a big win against Edmonton, the team that ended their playoff run last year. The Kings boast balanced scoring, with their two-way of Moore, Phillip Danault and Viktor Arvidsson doing it all including keeping Edmonton pointless last game. The Kings have spent plenty of time on the road already and their away record of 5-4-1 has kept them in the playoff hunt.
Lineups will be a question mark for the Canucks. This morning the questions were will Bruce has avoided sticking to a winning team? Is Restoring Demko's confidence more important then the Canucks desperation for wins? According to the morning skate, Bruce will sit Burroughs and go for Stillman, bring in Lazar and start Demko. Curious moves indeed.
With no other games tonight, the hockey spotlight will shine on Vancouver, let's hope the better version of them show up against a gritty Kings squad.

The ping pong ball format hasn’t discouraged tanking either maybe not to the degree the old format had. The randomness is where the conspiracy aspect came from. Micro mng ,Local blackout … on and on and on bottom line NHL sn tsn Espn MLSE have gone to far whilst excluding Canada and the more knowledgable fans over the fickle American fanbase with its demographic prioritizing
Which again is madness. I'm in the US, been here 12 years and people in the south and west only care when a)their other local teams suck and b)when they make a deep playoff run. The canes support is pathetic and dallas isn't much better. For 7 bucks i get hulu and can watch any game, home or away streams and yet i'm sure the ratings are low. At the same time Canada isn't as in love with hockey anymore and the lack of stanley cup wins by any team is a huge reason. It's just a very weird business model which seems solely propped up by tv rights which may not be around forever.

When I heard of this incident I was extremely sad and angry and so I'll temper myself and just add quotes from the report that the Blackhawks commissioned:
(https://jenner.com/system/assets/assets/11549/original/Report to the Chicago Blackhawks Hockey Team - October 2021.pdf)
And of course from Quennville himself:
I admire Quennville for owing up to his failure but there was absolutely a failure here to put his players over success. Perhaps he has changed and deserves a second chance. The same may apply to Crawford for his horrible actions with Sopel. But others do not forgive easily and I understand that too.
