On the same note, you should respond to questions breaking down to your posts. Not doing so gives the impression you're picking the more easily won battles. You still have not addressed my clarifying question about cutting off the rich and handing off their income/assets if they leave the country.

Personally, I would not present facts that work in favour of my position without standing behind them. For example, in a thread about human trafficking I would never say "hey, slavery worked fine for hundreds of years".

I do believe in your country and mine and the large American one below me the 50% (or thereabouts) max taxation is already a reality. Agree or not, you are the one that presented the example of France and the 75% tax.

You didn't follow the logic of my post. I wasn't talking about not paying while there. Earlier you said if the rich leave the country their income should be cut off and handed off. I'll pay my taxes while there for 5 years. My question is according to the logic in our previous post, in 5 years when I move back to Canada my income/assets in France should be taken from me, correct?

Obviously your mind is black/white greedy or not. Over simplification of people and the real world. There is not one person in the world that would describe me as the least bit greedy, try and take 75% of my earnings regardless of what I make, not going to happen if I have an out.

So, if I get what you're saying. I move to France tomorrow, I make some investments in France that do quite well and I end up earning big. 5 years down the road I decide to move back home to Canada. By your logic the French government should be able to just appropriate my assets and either keep them or hand them off to somebody else?

It has nothing to do with greed, it has to do with what is fair. I have no problem with higher earners carrying a little more of the burden percentage wise but to make them pay 3-4 times the percentage others do is ridiculous. All you would end up doing it driving up salaries for the top 1% to increase the net pay anyway leaving less to pay everyone else.

A 75% tax is outright robbery regardless of what you make.
