  1. idc if you guys know mine already. my starting 11 is a 3-5-2 position gk: Cech def: leighton baines, john stones, nathaniel clyne mid: sigurdsson, depay, januzaj, wijnaldum, cabaye fwd: aguero, kane my approach is obviously to score a billion goals
  2. who won last year's pool? i created my team then never signed in again lmao
  3. yeah, it's a good one. the simple/clean design is good. i can't handle too many bright colours or patterns the third is sharp too:
  4. What is a girl supposed to learn from rape? The point of the scene was to highlight Ramsay's depravity and Theon's conflict -- I don't think this is much different than Ramsay's assault on Theon's own sexuality I have no problem with the rape scene, and I'm sorta confused as to why so many people did
  5. i don't like it at all, personally. especially those sleeves not big on a whole bunch of the new shirts, tbh. newcastle's looks silly, Spurs away is worse. but i guess they're all better than having Chevrolet across your chest
  6. whimsical?? man, this movie is depressing as hell but still great, 9/10
  7. yeah, but to what extent? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/arsenal/11308606/Revealed-The-truth-behind-Arsenals-terrible-injury-record-and-how-your-club-shapes-up.html Arsenal have really bizarre injury issues. So even bringing in YET ANOTHER striker is only good so far as the rest of the team can stay healthy -- and what are the chances of that happening?
  8. this is an interesting read -- I mean, sort of. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/ghost-amy-pascal-haunts-sonys-811729 Sony Pictures is the worst major studio (even behind Lions Gate), taking in about 4% of the global film market. and it's top grossing movie of 2015, with no more significant blockbusters down the pipe, has been PAUL BLART MALL COP 2. as if those Sony leaks showing internal conflict weren't telling enough, I wonder how long a film studio can go on releasing utter trash to a small audience before the whole thing goes belly up?
  9. i feel like i've only watched 2 or 3 movies this year. but i'm actually really excited for the new Woody Allen one, Irrational Man, and is anyone else kind of interested in the David Foster Wallace biopic? looks like it could be good:
  10. man I was so unbelievably disappointed in A Most Violent Year. i was really hoping it would be something special, but I thought it was just way, way, way too slow with nothing to redeem it. no nice visuals, no great script, no unique performances.. nothing. i wanted to like The Drop way more than I did, but I think I still gave it a 7 or 7.5/10
  11. I watched Ligue 1 for a very long time, and I'd say it's one of the most physical leagues in Europe. very large, very fast players - lots of tackling. Only behind England, I think.
  12. mad max: fury road: 8.5 i hate action movies, but this was very strangely enjoyable. probably all the "weird" people. charlize theron was the real star of the show
  13. wreck it ralph and big hero 6, to me, are the most confusing animated movies in recent years because of their praise. ADD is an understatement.
  14. plus keep in mind the film is shot by Emmanuel Lubezki, the man responsible for the camera work in Birdman, Tree of Life, Children of Men, Gravity, The New World, and so on and so on. aka the best eye in cinema in decades, if not ever, imo. and the movie was shot mostly on Vancouver Island, too! Leo was in Victoria a bunch.
  15. just curious, where did the 3 points come from?
  16. luckily i don't really know many people with bad taste (outside of this forum), so i doubt it will ever come up again
  17. kingsmen: ?/10 couldn't finish it, and highly doubt i'll bother absolute garbage though. at the pace it was going, i'd give it about a 3 or a 4. no idea what people enjoy about this, other than seeing an extremely dapper colin firth in a very nice suit. cartoon violence, terrible dialogue, and some truly awful music (edit: and when i say cartoon violence, i don't mean that in a good way. i mean, it literally looks like cheap CGI. worse, it's completely unshocking, despite each stupid cut/slice/whatever acting as some graphic punchline) woulda loved it if i were 15 years old and i hadn't seen things like Kill Bill before.
  18. i'm sure plenty of people watched the leaks, but other than myself and one person, everyone i know irl has been watching it week by week, even the piracy types. that's actually really interesting to me, and says an awful lot about the "game of thrones experience" and how the magnificent tension built up over the week is strangely enjoyable
  19. the queen - 7/10 nothing special here outside of the good acting, but still strangely enjoyable.
  20. I end up seeing almost every "Oscar season movie" a billion times, just because I watch the leaks almost immediately, then whenever someone I know wants to watch something, it's usually just "those" ones again. I would never in a billion years recommend watching Zero Dark Thirty more than once
  21. I wanted to like Django more than I did. I love westerns AND Tarantino, but I didn't even finish my second viewing. (I also didn't care for the ending) Moonrise is probably my least favourite Anderson film as well, but I still think it's a solid 8/10 or so.
  22. I've seen Zero Dark Thirty a few times now, probably 3. and it just gets worse with each viewing for me. I think I gave it like a 9 the first time, maybe a 7.5 the second time, then I'm probably at like a 6 now. to me now it's just a very average telling of a very above average story, with nothing particularly unique about the film itself, and nothing is gained from repeat viewings Argo is more or less the same for me. liked it at first, but then by the second viewing i just was like, OK, there is nothing really here. 2012 was a really poor year in film, IMO. in hindsight, Moonrise Kingdom may be my favourite of the year. I loved Life of Pi in theaters, but still haven't re-watched it.
