  1. Do the Right Thing is also essential "New York Movie" watching, although it's a bit dated stylistically, still an important one to consider
  2. ^You've Got Mail is great the best New York movie, in my opinion, is Manhattan When Harry Met Sally is a great one, too
  3. why are some of you guys so eager to have Dortmund play well again? don't you enjoy seeing a top team crumble a bit and have other organizations get some money and exposure? The big leagues around europe are so painfully predictable. I guess that's one thing to like about Serie A.. the corruption keeps it semi-interesting. I mean, the super wealthy Milan teams are sitting in 8th and 9th, lmao
  4. tried the first season of Parks and Rec for some reason. didn't much care for it. didn't find it BAD or obnoxious, like Brooklyn 99 or something, but I didn't enjoy it either. 5/10. a few chuckles here and there, but nowhere near 30 Rock style of humour, which is what I was hoping for
  5. Tanev for phaneuf book it

I'd do Tanev + a 3rd for Dion 35% retained. Tanev is the most one dimensional player on the team.

Definitely gives us a better chance against the Kings.

  6. ^ tommy lee jones is a p decent director actually. and if you're interested in his other stuff, he did another western-type movie called 'the three burials of melquiadas estrada' that i thought was surprisingly good http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/three_burials_of_melquiades_estrada/ one to check out if you like westerns, as i do.
  7. low down - 5.5/10. movie about a heroin junkie jazz pianist and his daughter wanted to like it, but really didn't towards the end. so many of the reviews were saying how bleak it is and all of that. by the end, it was almost like a comedy with how dark it 'tried' to get. a few actors from Game of Thrones (Cerci, or whatever her name is, and Dinklage). And from Deadwood as well. but... yeah. Good music, and an interesting look at that world... buuuuuuuuuuuuut zero emotion, despite overselling emotion big time. Why do so many movies that depict the 70s have to have that filter that looks like it has a layer of pee on it? I get that everything had nasty yellow and earthy brown tones, but come on. The entire world did not have jaundice
  8. Yeah, at 12 episodes, 30 min/per, it's only a few hours. well worth it IMO. holds up very well. it's actually even better than i remember, and i *loved* it the first time. gonna re-do Extras now, or maybe Fawlty Towers I think. really in the mood for British humour lately
  9. man, I just finished re-watching The Office (UK version, of course). this is easily a 10/10 for me. almost 15 years old and still hilarious. if you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it if you like awkward, cringe-y humour
  10. neill blomkamp (district 9, elysium, chappie) has confirmed he's doing Alien(s) 5. ridley scott's sequel to Prometheus is still coming out too. not news i particularly care about (although i did enjoy most of the Alien(s) series), but some of you may care http://variety.com/2015/film/news/new-alien-movie-confirmed-at-fox-with-director-neill-blomkamp-1201436551/

  12. Black Swan isn't in the same league as Birdman, but if you actually saw the latter of the two as a pity party for Hollywood, then I guess we just watched entirely different things Make out scene in Birdman
  13. who do you guys reckon would be the modern-day equivalent to a Keane or Vieira in midfield? it seems like the most highly regarded midfielders are known primarily for their offensive ability rather than being a dominant defensive/holding midfielder? Makelele was fantastic at that role too. Talk about being an unsung hero.
  14. When I first started following the sport, Roy Keane was my immediate favourite, and probably still is in my all-time top three. I don't care how bitter he is, or how much he slags off SAF or United or anything, the guy was a genius in the midfield
  15. thierry henry is now a youth coach at arsenal. future manager of arsenal? of course everyone thought roy keane would take over at united some day, but that sure didn't (won't) happen
  16. got in on Blizzard's Heroes of the Storm beta. anyone else try it yet? installing now. looks just like Dota but for extra extra dumb people
  17. 50 Shades of Grey sitting at 3.2 on IMDB, and 31% on RT so far, and it hasn't even been widely released yet.
  18. are you being sarcastic? Falcao doesn't even deserve to warm a spot on the bench
  19. i dunt git tired

just cuz a king leaves court doesn't mean the jester can wear the crown, ya feel me?

  20. yeah, but LvG shut that down pretty fast.. he even had the charts, haha
  21. if you remove penalty kicks from Rooney's goal records, I'm pretty sure his stats aren't all that pretty -- especially a few years ago with Berbatov when his shooting percentage was quite dismal i don't think Rooney is going to solve any striking problems, and there's probably a reason why every manager he plays for either moves him back into the midfield, onto the wing (for England), or as a supporting role
