i totally disagree with the bold part, though! Mad Men had two major deaths (one by pretty dramatic means, no less!), and a handful of small ones, too. and I wouldn't be surprised if Draper kills himself by the end. but none of that really matters. you are totally correct in saying it's more or less the same thing throughout. the agency grows, and everyone gets drunk. the agency shrinks, then everyone gets drunk. repeat repeat. i do think the fact that the shifting in personalities and tone is pretty important though, and i enjoy that
I wasn't as crazy about Breaking Bad as others were (I did really like the first couple of seasons and the end, though). And I do think GoT is mostly a bunch of shells walking around waiting to die, I just much prefer the slow burn of Mad Men to GoT's plot-shock factor
I need a new show, so I can check out BSG, but no promises. I really have a weird aversion to things set in space. It's totally irrational, but I have the same issue with shows and movies based around the police. Just don't seem to enjoy them very much
