  1. not a huge crystal castles fan, but i love this one;
  2. that instrumental is so good, Faulk proof you can put anything overtop of it and still sound #FRESH
  3. Daley Blind is set to join United for 13.5 million. Not a spectacular pick-up, but definitely an improvement. I'm not sure if he'll take over left back duties or play a defensive midfield position, but, either way, United need both
  4. Martyrs: Ridiculous movie/10. what is with the French? always trying to make grand statements in grotesque packages equal parts silly and disturbing. literally lol'd many times throughout, but had to look away from the screen a few times too. wasn't really sold by the half baked 2001-y ending, but the last 45 minutes sure were a unique 'experience'
  5. I like Welbeck. Hope he isn't moved, or if he is it's to a side that can really use or utilize him. Kind of surprised that Wenger ruled out a move for him, with Giroud out
  6. I've had Mean Streets downloaded for ages, I don't know why I've never seen it. Or maybe I have and just don't remember. Second half of Goodfellas is totally mediocre, first half is the finest 80 minutes of any movie around. Taxi Driver and Raging Bull are masterpieces IMO
  7. less match fixing, more United has really awful defense http://ftw.usatoday.com/2014/08/manchester-united-loses-mk-dons-van-gaal there are some vine clips of the goals. haha @ the last one edit: this is a funny thread: the GDT on a United forum. The first pages are priceless, where they speculate on whether or not MK Dons can win. haha. http://www.redcafe.net/matches/milton-keynes-dons-vs-manchester-united.45/discussion
  8. haha he was a fantastic player. i wonder why he went to russia (or wherever) for all those years.
  9. If you head over to Redcafe.net, which is a truly fantastic forum (especially compared to this gong show), you can see a lot of people have faith in van Gaal, but no faith in the squad. I don't know why so many had their heads buried in the sand for so long, as this was a problem in the making for years. I didn't see the MK Dons game (lol), but the starting 11 wasn't very good at all on paper. When you do that, you're almost inviting an upset.
  10. wow, great. i'll give it another watch tonight maybe! (i had to order it through a library to watch it, lol)
  11. just curious, what made you choose this? I find Lowry's life and book (Under the Volcano) absolutely fascinating. Watched this doc a few years ago and agree it's great. But where'd you find it? Was it on tv or something?
  12. is the signing confirmed for United? huge if so, although part of me is a little skeptical he can perform at the level he did for Madrid... he is a big time diver, quite a soft player. will be interesting to see how he makes the transition near disaster for Arse today. some big name players coming to england this summer. has Balotelli been confirmed yet?
  13. he's a walking circus. i wouldn't want him, to be honest. unimpressive record in england. liverpool would be his 4th major club and he's, what, 24? i dunno. it's a gamble, unless he takes a serious wage cut, imo
  14. more than that for me. movie of the decade maybe? found it to be unbelievably powerful.
  15. nah dude, you can hate on it all you want, i really don't mind. i'm just curious. i totally disagree with the bold part, though! Mad Men had two major deaths (one by pretty dramatic means, no less!), and a handful of small ones, too. and I wouldn't be surprised if Draper kills himself by the end. but none of that really matters. you are totally correct in saying it's more or less the same thing throughout. the agency grows, and everyone gets drunk. the agency shrinks, then everyone gets drunk. repeat repeat. i do think the fact that the shifting in personalities and tone is pretty important though, and i enjoy that I wasn't as crazy about Breaking Bad as others were (I did really like the first couple of seasons and the end, though). And I do think GoT is mostly a bunch of shells walking around waiting to die, I just much prefer the slow burn of Mad Men to GoT's plot-shock factor I need a new show, so I can check out BSG, but no promises. I really have a weird aversion to things set in space. It's totally irrational, but I have the same issue with shows and movies based around the police. Just don't seem to enjoy them very much
  16. no idea what BSG is, and never seen Oz, and I certainly don't think GoT has elevated anything Mad Men is a character driven show, and if you don't find it interesting to see extremely well-written characters spiral out of control in their lives, that's totally cool. I found it really engaging from start to finish Just for clarification, you did watch all 7 seasons of Mad Men, correct?
  17. how did GoT 'take it to the next level'?
  18. not really sure what you mean by this. takes it to the next level? what shows take it to the next level after 2 fantastic seasons?
  19. mad men is really fantastic. some serious melodrama at times, but i loved almost every minute of it. some seriously great characters in that show. you may love it! now i need a new show as well. nothing out there that's catching my fancy. may try The Knick, but that one doesn't permit binge watching.
  20. not a movie, but i'm finally caught up with Mad Men. easily a 10 for me. not the best show of all time, but certainly among them and certainly extremely enjoyable and unique love it. can't wait for the final episodes ;(
  21. i dunno, i really enjoy the King's Speech, even though i sorta recognize it's like Oscar fodder. and while i agree the acting is what sets it apart, i think the movie is really beautifully shot. great set design too. i re-watched it recently as well and was expecting to be let down, but actually thought it holds up extremely well
