  1. I agree. I think Dalpe will become a better player, especially since he's now able to watch and learn from guy like Kesler. Grabner? Hodgson?
  2. I always felt like Erat was a really underrated playmaker, and a good backchecker, in Nashville but I haven't seen his game very much in a Caps uniform so I don't know.
  3. Yeah, I'm not sure this team is in a position where we could afford to part with Horvat even if it was for Evander Kane. Philly is in a much better position to jump on this.
  4. Deadline AAV $5,267,128 Well, would you look at that. Just enough cap space to squeeze in a $5.25m cap hit at the deadline. Do we even have the assets Cheveldayoff would be asking for in return? I'm guessing it would start with Horvat, Jannik Hansen, and who knows what else.
  5. Now that's a player this team should be drooling over. Hits, scores, fights, drives the net hard and can fly down the wing. He's everything we hoped Booth would be, again, plus he fights.
  6. His skating is night and day in terms of what it was last year vs this year and I'm liking what I'm seeing. I think he's actually ahead of Kassian when it comes to winning puck battles and on the defensive side of the puck (especially things like angling off the opposition although Kass is getting better as of late).
  7. They wouldn't, but my point was not the rationale behind the decision whether or not to send Schroeder down; my point was that 1-way contract versus 2-way contract has no bearing on waiver eligibility and the way you worded it could confuse people (especially those whose CBA knowledge base comes from the EA Sports NHL series).
  8. One way/two way has absolutely nothing to do with waiver eligibility. Professional games played and age determine waiver exemption/eligibility. This isn't EA Sports...
  9. Like this choosing the wrister over the big slapper, here? Oh, wait. That was #5, not #4. My bad.
  10. He has a primary assist tonight. Edit: Make that a pair of primary assists. (My guess is off of shots)
  11. I'm not sure how Brendan Gaunce managed to go pointless in an 8-2 drubbing but he did. Detroit prospect Allan Quine had 1g 5a.
  12. Stick him on the wing with Booth & Kesler and this will no longer be a problem. Booth has a magnet that pulls him to the net more often than any other player on this team and Kesler is so good along the boards that the only time he'll need help is for give-and-goes which is just a perfect scenario for Schroeder, imo.
  13. Solid. Getting Jensen & Gaunce that late in the 1st round in back to back years is just looking golden right now.
  14. Suddenly those Van-Philly rumours begin to make a little more sense if Laughton shows he could be an adequate fill in for Couturier (as hard as it is to grasp the very thought of trading him).
  15. He's not dressed for the Wolves in tonight's game: http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1010446
  16. Can you picture it five years from now? Jensen-Gaunce-Kassian. That line has it all.
  17. Dude got rocked cutting into the middle vs the Heat so it's no wonder he went all Mason Raymond after that.
  18. I wonder if Cody is kicking himself now that another one of his close buddies is in the Canucks' system and the Sabres drafting two centres (with Grigorenko being on the verge of signing) that could push Hodgson down the depth chart.
  19. Honestly, I know almost nothing about this particular player but I like the reputed positive character traits (can't see a guy like this whining about icetime) and the player style comparisons. Dubinsky, Staal (poor man's version), & Ryan O'Reilly. Looks like a perfect fit for our 3rd line duties and it sounds like he'll be NHL ready in a year or two (or three at the latest). Jordan Staal's speed and agility in tight spaces was also questioned when he was drafted. Hopefully Gaunce is powerful enough to play through those weaknesses like Staal did.
