  1. Hodgson had 17g 13a 30pts in 52gp last year so it would be nice if Schroeder could hit that same 17g 30pts in the next 5 games.
  2. In Archie's defence, that guy looked huge and that's not easy to do when Archibald is 6'3" 210lbs himself. I'm guessing 6'5" 230lbs?
  3. Make that 8g 11a 19pts & a +7 in his last 24gp. That's a 65pt pace and only one scoreless stretch during that span.
  4. 7g 10a 17pts & a +6 in his past 19gp. That's pretty darn consistent.
  5. Sweatt scores to make it 4-0. Assists to Schroeder & Rodin.
  6. 6 game point streak now. He has another apple.
  7. 3g 4a 7pts +4 in a 5 game scoring streak. 7g 9a 16pts and a +6 in his past 21gp.
  8. Schroeder with 1g 1a +2 after 40 minutes. Not too shabby. He's playing with Michael Davies & Bill Sweatt.
  9. The assist he got the other night on Sweatt's goal was directly from Schroeder being in perfect defensive position to intercept the breakout pass and then tee it up for Sweatt. His defensive acumen has always been there (PKer for Team USA @ WJC) but it's been his work ethic that has been rising steadily this year (from everything I've read & seen) and that has helped his WJC defensive game begin to translate to the AHL level on a more consistent basis.
  10. You mean "F1" on the forecheck... . F1, F2, F3...
  11. Yep. Detroit won't call up an offensive player until they're age 22 and they've put up some impressive numbers at the AHL level (barring major injury issues at the NHL level that necessitate call ups). Schroeder is, what, 20 (21 in September)? Still at least a year to go and probably more like 2 or 3 more years given his already tough issue of learning how to beat pros in spite of his lack of size. Hudler (5'10" 180lbs) spent three years and 185gp (205gp if including playoffs) in the AHL before getting a full season in at the NHL level at age 22/23 (January D.O.B.).
  12. Quick, let's find some pics of the Sedins, Chris Higgins, & Keith Ballard standing in similar spots to gauge his height whether it be 6'2", 6'1", 6'0" or 5'11".
  13. Raymond would need an unheard of training binge in order to return pre-December, imo. He wouldn't be allowed to do any sort of exercising for 4-6 weeks, and even then it would be really light exercising, followed by another 4-6 weeks before beginning rigorous training. Basically 3 months, which means mid-September, before he can start his usual summer training regimen. Personally, I think he's out until Christmas and if he has any setbacks, with things like bulging discs, he could be out for the season. Sedin Sedin Burrows Sturm Kesler Samuelsson Higgins Malhotra Hansen _____ Lapierre Oreskovich I'm not sure I'm seeing a spot for Rodin here, this year at least, guys and he hasn't even played an 80-game season on NA ice as of yet. Malhotra might not start the season though. He still has another eye procedure to do and if he's out, voila, temporary roster spot for Cody. If that's the case, here's what I would do: Sedin Sedin Burrows Sturm Kesler Hansen Higgins Hodgson Samuelsson That gives Cody two of our smarter, veteran forwards to play with (Hansen is still learning & Sturm is a North-South player) that also play at a similar pace so Cody should have no problems keeping up. This also allows Kesler to play with linemates than can keep up with him and Kesler has also publicly stated how he finds Hansen easy to play with and how it's easy to read off of him.
  14. I don't know. Perhaps it was a failed experiment and we should try what has worked for him in the past, namely centering a line with big powerforwards like 6'3" 200lb Ryan Stoa, 6'1" 215lb Colin Wilson & 6'3" 200lb James VanRiemsdyk. Archibald-Schroeder-Mancari Afterall, if 5'9" 184lbs Derek Roy can play C at the NHL level with powerforward wingers as insulation, Schroeder ought to be able to do the same.
  15. Good news. Archie gets a head start on next year...
  16. So, now that Archibald & Friesen's OHL seasons are over, is it off to the Moose to help prolong a Calder Cup run?
  17. "Tough to play against" third liner that can play up and down the lineup and pitch in 15g if needed. That's all I want from this guy.
  18. I'm not sure if even Byfuglien has as good of a size/hands/cockiness package as that. That's simply off the charts ballsy, and infuriating for opponents ESPECIALLY since it's in a playoff game. Only thing missing was taunting the crowd...
  19. O-M-G. After reading CDC post after CDC post bemoaning every line juggle AV does I was under the impression he was the only coach in the world who does this...
  20. Just thought I'd get back you (like you said) now that Kesler has scored 30g in a season, in only 52 games to be exact.

  21. Happy belated!

  22. LOL @ Mega. Don't sweat it Kurupt. Post secondary man.

  23. What you think BedBeats? We certainly got grittier. I'm happy with it and I'll be even happier when Gillis signs Hammer @ $4.5m. People forget what's being traded for his rights. Ballard, Hamhuis, a 2nd & a 3rd for Bieksa, Bernier, Grabner & a 1st.
