  1. Who would want to have the C on the current team ? Will the coach appoint somebody ? I don't think anyone will want to be traded to the Canucks now in view of how things have been handled for some time now. It seems since 2011 thins have been a mess by mnagement.
  2. Gino should be in the ring of honor. Just ask his team mates.
  3. Forget about "tanking" ! Its a lottery, the Canucks will never win. If they did and got Beddard, he would be ruined on such a weak team.
  4. When JT came to Vancouver he was playing better than most of the team. IF he doesn't get the C then the best thing would be to go without a captain.
  5. JT Miller gets paid the most so let him show us how he can do the captain thing. Once Horvat is gone he should be captain. I think management knows that too.
  6. There is no one in that group that would make a great captain. The team has always used "nice guys" for their captains. Give it to JT Miller he has it in him.
  7. I don't think Bruce Beaudreau is the problem. I don't think the team is good enough. Just look at the schedule. With a weak D and no chemistry what do we expect ? As a matter of fact I'll bet Beaudreau knows whats going on.. He needs to do something fast. I think they have relied too much on Hughes capabilities. Pettersen for me is overrated and coughs up the puck a lot. Its almost like Connor Garland is the best player. The 4th line has played ok. The Canucks are looking like the most vulnerable team in the league. Once again the Canucks have become a goalie graveyard. The whole think is very depressing like the Blue Jays.
  8. Schenn has been great. The team needs to protect their goalie, not just Schenn. I also believe the league and the 2 ref system along with so many commercial time-outs, takes away incentive and momentum to fight back when the goalie is attacked.
  9. Well Mason Ramond had his back broken and how did Canucks respond. They got rid of Raffi Torres the following year. Raffi was tough and could score.
  10. Another thing I think is they sell too many seats to Corporations and not enough to individual fans.
  11. A new culture is needed. To start with they should have a regular anthem singer, and use an organ if they still have one. It is a hockey rink Canucks play in not a talent show for singers. Then they need to find players that will protect each other. The captain should be a leader who ill protect the rest of the team or at least try to. This team has not been tough since 2011. Its hard to watch the team get intimidated. The idea that you can have a skilled fast skating team and not have some protectors is ludicrous. They could take some lessons from the Blue Jays and Raptors about building a team .
  12. The D is not very good, but the team is not gritty or tough enough. Recently Demko was bowled over and his mask removed. There was no response from the team. This has happened over and over. Where are the leaders ? Where is the captain ? How does the new coach let his star goalie get crashed into accidently on purpose with no response ? Hopefully the new management will address this weakness or lack of gutts. Its probably no wonder JT Miller gets frustrated with his teammates. Quin Hughes has also been hit badly with no concern from teammates. Since the 2011 riot the Canucks have been weak about responding to bad hits on teammates.
  13. Green was just a slight upgrade from Willy Desjardin. The Canucks need a manager that will not put up with interference from anyone. Then he must hire a coach that really knows how to coach and get the most out of a team. The Canucks have a great goalie and can rebuild from that.
  14. The team is obviously broken. Nothing will change though with the current management. Actually the Canucks need a major overhaul in the whole personel in management. It has been too stale for too long. I don't think the Sedins can help in any way. The team is too soft and they have no statement to put forward. They are too concerned with the anthem singing and their ridicules micky mouse siren. The organization needs a complete overhaul.
  15. Randy Carlyle would be good for coach but Canucks need a better manager as well. Too bad Craig McTavish is with a Swiss team as he would be another good choice for coach. Who ever gets the job after Green will have a lot of work to do. Maybe Aquilini will sell the team and then the whole shebang can be changed.
  16. Well if you really take a look at who is the best player on this team it is Horvat. Its remarkable he plays as well as he does. He has adapted to the whims of Green and his over coaching ways. On any other team he would always be on the top line. Horvat is a good soldier on a weak team and that it.
  17. The Canucks have had good goaltending for the last several years. Problem is management has depended on that. It seems they put too much hope on Hughes and Peterson. The team is just not tough enough and big enough. Then there is the Green coaching system, which I believe stifles skilled players. A coach has to adapt not stick with the same old stradegy. So for a team that is weak in many areas Green is lost. He is only slightly better than the guy he replaced.
  18. The league has always treated the Canucks with indifferense. I think that has affected the Canucks in that the players know they will get the worst of most calls. Is that why they were spouting how they were going to be a fast and skilled team. They didn't want to be tough. Well guess what hockey is a tough nasty game it needs tough guys as well as skill and speed .
  19. I thought Bo was good on face-offs. The Canucks had trouble breaking out. So they started using the drop pass or back pass and they became very predictable to play against. I never liked that play as the game is too fast and should always move forward. The puck should never go backwards or be sitting waiting to be moved
  20. The team needs better management. That means from the owner down. '94 was a good year, they had a good team, and a great coach, and goalie. Most of the years they had mediocre coaching with the exception of Roger Neilson. On given games though they were competitive, but they had dumb stratedgy such as having to have a number 1 goalie. They would never think of going with the hot goalie. They had coaches that could not adapt to certain game situations. A coach must be able to "play the game" and adapt. So its been a tough 50 or so years and now with Seattle playing next season the Canucks need much better management ,.
  21. Green is just another one of several mediocre Canuck coaches since 1970. There were 2 exceptions Roger Nielson and Pat Quin. Green seems to just go to the game and hope it goes well. He like Vigneau and most of the Canuck coaches over the years, he doesn't react or make moves strategically to win. My opinion is that Vancouver has always had enough fans that management is satisfied. Of course Iron Mike and Torts were good coaches, but they spoke out and identified Canucks weaknesses. A coach must be dedicated to the fans and his players. So flashes of greatness only last so long with a team that has its share of older players that have huge salaries but weaken the team. Why the team didn't go after Burrows is probaly because he wasn't the nicest player. He was a winner though.
