  1. The NHL is distracting everyone by having the leafs lose so everyone will forget the Blackhawks get Bedard
  2. https://bc.ctvnews.ca/the-canucks-are-truly-canada-s-team-polls-show-1.651831 The Canucks are Canada's team, according to two new polls, dispelling doubts that the rest of the country cares about the West Coast warriors. Survey results released Wednesday by Angus Reid Public Opinion show that seven out of 10 Canadians say they're rooting for the Canucks in the Stanley Cup Final. Fellow pollster Ipsos Reid came up with similar results, finding that just over 60 per cent of Canadians are hoping that the Canucks will be the first Canadian team since 1993 to win the Stanley Cup. Those findings are a smack in the face for opinion writers who have claimed the Canucks aren't Canada's team in newspaper editorials across the country in recent weeks. Steve Mossop, Ipsos Reid Canada West president, says there is now concrete proof that the majority of the country is behind the Vancouver team. "It has been 18 long years since a Canadian-based NHL team has won the Stanley Cup and it looks like the country is overwhelmingly saying, ‘We want it back – now!'" Mossop said in a release. "Knowing the majority of the country is also supporting the team, the Canucks can face off against the Bruins with much more than just a great team of players on their side." Even fans of other Canadian teams are hopping on the Canucks bandwagon, Angus Reid found. That poll showed that over 70 per cent of Calgary Flames, Montreal Canadiens and Edmonton Oilers fans are supporting the Canucks, as well as 83 per cent of Toronto Maple Leafs fans and a whopping 93 per cent of Ottawa Senators fans. Nearly three-quarters of people across the country say the team is "very likely" or "moderately likely" to defeat the Boston Bruins and take home the coveted Stanley Cup. A region-by-region breakdown by Ipsos Reid shows that support for the home team outside of B.C. is highest in the prairies at 66 per cent and lowest in Quebec at 51 per cent. However, the Boston Bruins are also finding pockets of Canadian support, peaking in Quebec at 18 per cent and, unsurprisingly, dipping to the lowest levels in B.C. at seven per cent. Angus Reid polled 1,006 randomly-selected Canadian adults online on Tuesday and Wednesday. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 per cent, 19 times out of 20. Ipsos Reid surveyed an online panel of 1,002 Canadian adults on Monday and Tuesday. The polling company claims a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 per cent, 19 times out of 20.
  3. I agree hating Toronto is wasted energy, I'm still outraged about the the Blackhawks winning the Bedard sweepstakes.
  4. I was tempted to buy tickets to this game and hop the train to Seattle this morning. But last night before bed my ankle swelled up to the size of grapefruit and I can't walk today ..oh well
  5. So me not hating the leafs makes me a Leafs fan? Why even have this message board if you can't handle different opinions? Why did you live in Toronto for 15 years? The GTA is over double the GVA in population. So if you want equal coverage you need equal viewership know who gets shafted from national coverage more than the Canuck? Jets, senators, and the Alberta teams I think tsn could do a tsn west, but tsn seems to like to lay more people off than hire new ones. Spotsnet is all regional coverage except for the national broadcast
  6. Rivalry???? Leafs??? I must have forgot about all those classic playoff series: all 1 in 50 years... but they're a rival??? I lived in Toronto, hung out with a lot of leaf fans. Still friends with them today. Most of them hate and I mean HATE the Bruins. I get hating flames, Oilers, kings, Blackhawks ... but if you're concerned about the media change the channel, turn sportsnet 650, listen locally/regionally. Turn off intermissions, watch a different feed. We live in an age where you can chose your coverage. Stop blaming other people for things you can control The real question is who's team has sucked worse since 1970? Also if you don't like leafs fans filling rogers arena, pony up the $500 and buy those tickets so leafs fans can't get them
  7. I've lived in Toronto and Vancouver, the biggest difference that i noticed is people there are friendlier than in Vancouver. I live Vancouver presently, but Toronto has a lot going on. Its got baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer, hosts major tennis tournaments. Toronto also has bustling; arts, culinary, and night life scenes. It is also the largest multicultural hub in North America. It was far easier to make friends as an adult in Toronto than Vancouver. I was also born and raised in BC, so there's no bias that way. You don't have to cheer for the leafs BUT every leafs fan i met was cheering for the Canucks fans against Bruins, this is important because they hate the bruins as much as we do, Oilers fans nor as much. But hey let's paint all Torontonians with the same brush right? Considering the most hate is for Ron MacLean and he's from Red Deer Alberta
  8. Toronto is a cool city, the people there are very nice, and it's the largest urban population in Canada. Also leafs fans don't care about Canucks, yet Canuck fans have this weird obsession with their hatred of Toronto .
  9. Damn growing up in the 80's small city about a 50/50 Oilers fans vs. Canucks fans. No way I ever cheered for the Oilers. They were definitely good, but even back then I never once cheered for a division rival. Canucks have sucked forever but its never an excuse to cheer for the Oilers
  10. I guess they didn't want our capologist https://www.nhl.com/flyers/news/flyers-name-keith-jones-president-of-hockey-ops-daniel-briere-named-gm/c-344315564
  11. The one thing that really shocked me is how good the wranglers are. Calgary has a great prospect pool they've built up. And they have done it with little or no lottery help. They're last top 10 pick was Matthew Tkachuk and have only had a top 10 pick 3 times in the last 10 years. But so many of their picks have had decent nhl careers
  12. And if it says BMO, that's Toronto not Vancouver
  13. What about all the other swedes, finns russians, Slovakian etc... all moved to north America? Tryamkin might be good physically, bit mentally he's weak. I mean if Willie Desjardins and the smell of weed is too much for him how's he going handle the pressure of nhl? He couldn't make it through an entire season. If you've ever talked to scouts having good mental attributes are just as valuable as being big. Someone's gonna call him a name and he'll be on the next flight back home. No thanks, id rather save a roster spot open for someone mentally stronger
  14. Yesterday on Donnie and Dhali they said Emily was still in the mix
  15. Ok Boomer. Now get your cane and yell at clouds
  16. You think management will be around 10 years, especially after not going for 1 draft lottery where 2 first overall players have expressed their desire to bring a cup home, and current management wants to stay in the mushy middle
