  1. That hit by Mac was huge, I actually don't think it's a bad idea to keep him and Gadjovich for a little size. There's going to be some tough decisions for the coaching staff. It finally feels like we have a little bit more size AND speed. Just need to sharpen a few details, get petey and Hughes signed and I feel like this team could be waaaay more exciting than last year.
  2. If sutter can't go, I'd be down with Dowling or chaisson as a replacement
  3. Hey all I missed the game until Rathbones shootout winner. Doesn't look like a we were super jacked tonight, hopefully it's better tomorrow. But I'm not worried.
  4. There's probably a reason the agents are keeping Petterson and Hughes out of Vancouver. This city is rabid, and I'm glad they're not here before they are signed.
  5. I understand how they are used and what they are for, but my point is I don't see any other team making a big deal from a bag skate...I think Canucks fans want to over analyze every little detail, nothing is proven until game one of the regular season.
  6. Not to discredit the bag skate, but I honestly never heard of it until Green came to the team. How many other teams use it, I'm having a hard time finding the Tampa Bay lightening bag skate to compare us to Stanley Cup champs... Bag skates don't build championships
  7. Are you kidding, this is the cdc, if a player sneezes they're a cancer to the locker room... But yes I 100% agree with you.
  8. According to my friends in Edmonton it's Archibald
  9. @SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME it's like you're reading my mind. I thought the Pearson contract was a bit rich for my liking, and I'm not sure what to expect from the signings this off season, it seemed like Benning felt like he had to invest in RHD, he brought Schenn back, and re-signed Hamonic, and signed Poolman, all before what appeared to me to be much in terms of contact negotiations with Petey and Hughes. It was around the middle of July when the contracts for top tier defenseman got all outta whack, and that's when I got a little concerned Benning may have been overspending a bit on depth signings. Just to clarify I think they will get signed, I just wish it happened sooner. Hopefully maybe Benning can make some market correction, but I think Dahlen's contract helps him out when dealing with Hughes.
  10. I thought the point of the OEL, Garland trade was to free up enough cap space so we could sign Petey and Hughes? Now there's even less money , and we still have to sign Brock at the end of this season. Waiting for kaprisov may have ended up burning GMJB, not saying for sure but that's your petey comparison.
  11. If Rathbone comes in and puts up decent numbers and plays solid in his defensive zone this year, it's not out of the realm of possibility,
  12. Hi everyone I just wanted to try to move away from the Petey and Quinn discussion for a second and see who are your picks for: 1) Best defenseman- It doesn't have to be points related or maybe it does, but who you think will be the best defenseman and why? 2) Break out candidate- Who do you think is going to breakout this season and exceed expectations? 3) Bounce Back Candidate- Who is coming back this year from a down year or possibly couple years ? 4) Decline- Who is on the downward trajectory, maybe even just a year, but who is going to have a poor season or not perform up to par? If I'm stepping on the pollsters foot just let me know and I can take this down, but I just wanted to have a little discussion a couple weeks before the season starts. My picks are: Best defenseman - Tyler Myers...boy we need this guy to be our best defenseman he has to be stable on the back end because I think this defense could be shakey. This will be his third season here, and now there's no excuses; he's big, fast, strong and has a mean streak he just needs put it all together and be the 2/3 guy we signed. We've seen flashes in the bubble but nows his time. Break out candidate- Jason Dickinson: I think he has the tools to be more offensive minded than he was in Dallas, and I think he'll end up being a utility belt for this team, much the way Tyler Motte was a couple years ago. Bounce Back Candidate- Brandon Sutter he's going to be used in his best roll and I think he's going to flourish on the 4th. Honorable mention goes to OEL. 4) Decline- While I think the team will be better overall there's going to be some hiccups and I think that maybe, just maybe Höglander has a bit of a sophomore slump next year. He won't be playing as high in the line up and will probably get few pp minutes, I think he's going to have a little step back, but maybe through no fault of his own. I hope I'm wrong... And as a bonus, my favorite Benning move this summer was signing Brad Shaw.
