The vaccine apparently takes effect within couple days of injection. From my understanding, once vaccinated, the vaccine will assist one recover even though they contracted Covid while it was taking effect, thus eliminating any hospitalization need.

Given the death rate is dramatically lower for ages younger than this, why do we care so much if the virus grows? I’m not an anti masker nor an anti vaccer but this government needs to relax its control over people. Cancers and heart disease have more deaths per population. Are they going to ban cigarettes next? No. They would never give up that revenue. Also what about fast food restaurants and processed foods? Way higher kill rate. Is this unelected and “wise” doctor Bonnie Henry going to close those industries down? This government is utterly pathetic. Was way too soft in the beginning with border controls/mandatory masks and then it’s roll out of the vaccines. They are also too stupid to realize the vulnerable population is a lot less at this time now.

100% agree. We live in a world of snowflakes and those with agendas who have no concept of the word reasonable. There is no more middle. If you don’t choose the left wing view of the world you are simply a racist, misogynistic, sexist, homophobic or any other phobic or ist. Many of the middle conforms to avoid these titles, regardless of how unreasonable it is. The media perpetuates this and the state bends to this will. The only counter is the right wing and they have all been labeled those names mentioned so it becomes harder for the middle to vote them in. The constant false reminders eventually lead some of the middle to believe in those lies. Sorry, rant over. Let’s talk hockey again.

(Call-up) Canucks assign Lind to Taxi Squad

This season is toast. It’s time to play a few of the folks from Utica. Let’s see what they have. I would like to also see Woo, Lockwood and Rathbone in there. -
Edler would be a fine return if he came back at around 2M. The poster is just frustrated with the team and desires changes. It’s obviously been a terrible season and yes, there are plenty of players that have played even worse than Edler this season. If he can’t return on the cheap then JB will figure it out. I’m not sure we would have much cap for a decent FA signing after Hughes/Petey contracts get done.

100% I am starting to really hate this media and government. So many scare tactics with their stats. Yes, there is no denying this Covid will take those elderly/vulnerable more so than a typical flu but once the vulnerable are vaccinated, things should open up completely. You can guarantee that the stats of folks dying of heart disease and other illnesses have gone down because they have been replaced by “Covid”. A play with stats to fit the government’s narrative. This bone head Boney flipped flopped and made policies that were hypocritical from the start. It never should have been this prevalent if she and the government did what needed to be done from the beginning. She first said no to masks, saying they were ineffective and would cause it to spread more! I can’t believe they just implemented the schools to be mandatory just a couple months ago! Schools, where kids would be obvious super spreaders to other families. Then there was the border issue where they allowed inter provincial travel from provinces that had 10 times out cases and we had barely any. Also this ridiculously slow vaccination roll out is frustrating to watch. Total incompetence.

[Signing] Canucks re-sign Thatcher Demko

I’m sure hockey starved fans will fill the stadium next season. Everyone who wants to would be vaccinated by then and ownership couldn’t need it more after bleeding out these last 2 years! -
(Rumour) Virtanen on the trade block
grandmaster replied to Wayne Glensky's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Given how things have been, it’s a total buyers market. I can’t see us getting more than a 3rd round pick for JV. At this point we should just hold him until the market changes, perhaps next year but then his value could go even lower due to further poor production. -
(Rumour) Virtanen on the trade block

Wow. Let’s not trade Sutter either, he could be next Denis Savard and hell no to trading Benn, he could be the next Paul Coffey -
So Eric Staal plus 50% salary retention nets a 3rd and 5th. Ya, good luck to JB trying to get something for expiring contracts by this trade deadline
-
There are times I think like this too
-
I suppose. It would be nice if we could land a second pick if we retained salary.
-
Unfortunately our best player to trade is injured till end of the season. I’m not so sure anyone else not part of this core is attractive enough to get half decent value.

Once the elderly and vulnerable are vaccinated, it is time to go back to normal. People have to accept Covid is never going away and it’s like a flu on steroids. Most folks will be fine. There is no need to have everyone vaccinated.

Not sure if ownership will buy out anyone while he is bleeding dry from lack of revenue. I am sad to say we may be stuck with LE for one more year unless he can be traded off with a pick to a cap floor type team.
-
The player may not be a cancer but his salary sure is Crippled the team this year and will do so again next year
-
It’s unbelievable isn’t it? LE has is a cancer extraordinaire
-
He is the owner and has every right to meddle whenever he wants to. It’s his team. I don’t get folks like you. He has always paid the full salary cap and has been charitable in the community. He wants us to win more than anything. This team has a solid foundation and will never be moved. Be thankful for what we have.

At the time there was a huge hole in the lineup and JB got caught up filling it with free agency....and when JB goes free agency it’s never a good thing...we essentially got a 3M defensemen at an over inflated price.
