  1. The problem here is the Canucks were on an upward trajectory with: 1) their MVP goalie who won them most games they didn’t even deserve to win 2) a good top 6 forward who finally gave Bo someone to play with and helped the power play. 3) a lifelong Canuck defenceman who sacrificed his body each game and played hard and well All 3 are now gone. We had the cap space but weren’t even able to sign even one of them (this one particular signing with TT was easily attainable). Holtby is an ok goalie but not Marky. Demko had just 3 fantastic games in the playoffs and is not a measure for an entire season (he was just ok). Trades are don’t seem to be easy this season and JB does not look willing to give up important futures. You tell me how this next season is not going to be a disaster? Explain it to me, please.
  2. You’re the one who is also to blame. I just got on and noticed, wasn’t even part of your little spat. You also act like a douche by sending out confused emojis like that.
  3. It’s official. Canucks are going back to the bottom of the standings. JB had 3 pending important UFAs and didn’t even sign one of them
  4. JB is looking gun shy on the big deals. This LE burn won’t let up. You can’t always hit on what seems logical. It happens. He needs to get over that and act like a proper GM. If he doesn’t do anything to address this depleted lineup, we look to going back to being a lottery team again.
  5. I just hope AP doesn’t give them an ounce of a friendly contract.
  6. Dude, don’t want to be a downer but there is no way we are making the playoffs next year unless JB does something with our depleted lineup.
  7. He has but he can also do basic math. He ought to be more thankful for his huge paycheque.
  8. When he and his pal eat up 25% of the cap for so long, how does he expect win though? He can’t be so ignorant.
  9. https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/2037605 The Chicago Blackhawks' veteran core - Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, Duncan Keith, and Brent Seabrook - is fed up with the organization's early offseason moves, according to The Athletic's Mark Lazerus. "They're pissed. The core guys have had enough," one source said. Toews told Lazerus the club's offseason transactions don't align with his desire to win. "Bottom line is, I want to win," Toews said. "The expectation for the other leaders on this team and myself is to come ready to training camp every year to be a playoff team. We prepare ourselves to win a Cup for our fans. "I've never been told that we were going through a rebuild. That has never been communicated to me, for that matter. A lot of this comes as a shock because it's a completely different direction than we expected." This offseason, the Blackhawks have let longtime goaltender Corey Crawford walk in free agency, traded forward Brandon Saad, and failed to extend qualifying offers to reliable depth pieces in Drake Caggiulaand Slater Koekkoek. Each of those moves made Chicago's roster weaker on paper. They also come just months after the 12th-seeded Blackhawks eliminated the Edmonton Oilers in the qualifying round to make the playoffs for the first time since 2017.
  10. I agree but depends on what they want. Our cupboard isn’t like LA. No way we are letting go our only 2 grade A prospects.
  11. Every time one makes the playoffs, they have a chance. Being 5 years out of the competition gave us zero chance. Nothing is guaranteed. Let’s not forget 2011. We were more than just contenders that year. We were supposed to win. I believe the margin of winning and being competitive is not so great. A hot goalie, a bad goal, puck luck, injuries, referee calls/missed calls and solid team play can turn just being in the playoffs to a winning team.
  12. If we don’t win the AP sweepstakes, there is nothing positive coming down the pipe. The OEL trade was shut down because of them supposedly wanting Demko. We are not in a position with our prospects to gain a top defender in a trade. Hogs and Pods are our only grade A prospects and they seem not to going anywhere. So if we can’t sign a FA and can’t trade, this upcoming season will be development of our grade B prospects for all the holes in the back end. Definitely not making the playoffs...
  13. This guy was awful in Toronto last year but that could have been due more so with the team’s defence as a whole. I suppose it was wise for him to go to the Oilers to pad his stats with points playing with those 2 juggernauts for a year. A cheap tactic to fool others in giving him a big contract later (I doubt many will still bite). The guy definitely has no care about coming here and quite frankly we shouldn’t care about him either.
  14. 1.7M per season is a fair deal. JB has to be working on a bigger fish and needs every dollar of cap space. There is no other explanation. Given how Vegas is courting AP, it definitely isn’t free agency. Perhaps a trade of some sort?
  15. As it stands right now, we definitely won’t be better, we are dramatically worse. I’m not sure JB intends on your plan as he seems invested with competing for now. Your plan does make some sense though. Patience is the virtue and I’m not so sure our ownership, GM and most fans can be any more patient after 5 years of bad hockey.
  16. So we lost our MVP goalie and one of our top shot blocking and steady defenceman (a defence that needed upgrade). We also have a legit top 6 winger who is still in limbo, leaving Bo potentially on his own once again. That’s not a concern for you
  17. This is our only hope to recover from a rather terrible first day of free agency. We lost Marky, Tanev and still haven’t signed TT. We got Holtby at an ok price but dropped in goalie rankings. We were supposed to upgrade the defence and instead appear to be courting Barrie, who was terrible last year (not to mentioned we lost Tanev as well).
  18. Massive overpayment for a defenceman that would barely fit in a 3/4 position. Then again we have a couple of those ourselves I will repeat though to the Myers haters that he was a necessary acquisition at the time with a slight overpayment due to the holes in our lineup and available defenceman.
