  1. Why do we keep getting so many posts about this guy? How many years of ice time do some fans need to see to realize that Jake is a fringe 3rd liner and nothing more? He has had far too many opportunities and it is clearly evident that he is nothing more than what we’ve seen. Please stop
  2. This right quote from Bo makes me wonder if some of our players let up to go home to their families. Seemed as though Demko was the only guy who really wanted to win that game 7. No one will know for sure what was in their heads....
  3. The guy has been a minus player for the last 7 seasons and has only reached the 50 point level once 5 years ago. No pal, that’s not an “elite” defenceman.
  4. I maintain the fact that Jake is not a hit whatsoever. He was drafted 6th overall and struggles as a third liner (he has had plenty of opportunities, I would say too many). He was also misjudged as a physical presence. Skinny Pete throws his weight around more than this guy! What you call a win, I call a loss. I also don’t understand your comment about those drafted around him, if you want to play hindsight, you lose that argument as well; Pasternak, Nylander, Ehlers, Tuch, DeAngelo and other star players were drafted afterwards. Lol
  5. I guess we can’t always have 1st round hits all the time. Jake will likely help is shed another player we want to get rid of. Hopefully LE or Sutter.
  6. Ottawa will also be having 12M coming off the books from their LTIR so even with ur comments about them re-signing players, they will still have a tough go to reach that floor.
  7. This guy is way too overpaid for what he brings. No thanks. Also 29 years old. We need a Weber like defenceman to go with Hughes, but at a lower cap hit and age. Someone who can protect Quinn, be defensively reliable and have a good shot from the point.
  8. Hoglander by all accounts appears prime to slot right into the top 6. He looks legit. Goodbye Pearson.....
  9. If we didn’t have Hughes I would say sure but we need a Pronger to go with our Neidermayer and Letang is not even close to being a Pronger....
  10. Could care less if all of Virtanen/Beagle/Sutter/Rousell/Gaudette are gone. Only bottom 6 guy I want to remain is Motte. Only top 6 guy I want gone is Pearson. The rest should stay.
  11. How do you know that? A team like Ottawa has 40M cap space and needs to bump it up by 20M. A player like LE brings in 6M with a true cost of 2M. An owners dream considering this financial era. LE is very marketable at this point in his contract. No brainer.
  12. This could happen as one has to consider how valuable LE is to a cap floor team or a team with financially struggling ownership. It would clear up 8M in valuable cap space for us. Be interesting what JB will be able to do here.
  13. We are in a flat cap situation and thus players wanting to cash in next couple years have been hit with a reality check. Revenues will be at an all time low and teams bleeding out. Marky and Toffoli know this and will not command anywhere near what they would normally get. I say both will remain and under decent contracts that will fit under our Cap.
  14. I’m all fairness to Marky, he got hurt mostly likely due to being overworked. We were getting hammered with shots and he bailed us out far too many times. I think this would have happened to anyone.
  15. From the sounds of it Nils Hoglander could slot into the top 6 next season. Pearson should be traded if that is the case. Use the money to keep Toffoli.
  16. The only down side to this is that Demko’s stock right now may be through the roof. If he craps out while playing the next season, his stock would crash.
  17. You’re missing other factors like: 1) Plenty of owners right now are being hit hard by these financial times and will have problems paying real money versus cap hit so LE is a good acquisition, especially for cap floor teams. 2) Demko right now has advertised himself as the second coming of Martin Brodeur or Patrick Roy. Apparently some folks here have already called him to be a Vezina winner, lol. 3) Demko is on an easy Cap hit of just 1M next season, an easy fit for teams up against the Cap or again teams with financial problems. It would be interesting what we could get. I really do think we can get a lot. Not saying we should but it ought to be tested.
  18. Yes, I agree with us needing a Pronger to go with our Neidermayer but that is going to be very difficult to get. Easy on the Demko fantasy. Lol
  19. Let’s be fair here. Those others played most of the season while Demko hardly played at all
  20. When was the last time a rookie goalie showed the world this incredible on 3 straight elimination games? This has to have been the greatest ever advertisement for a rookie goalie.
  21. I don’t know man. Demko ad is out and everyone saw it and was impressed. I think his going rate now is far more than that. I’m just saying it should be explored. People need to relax
  22. 1) our defence needs one more top 4 to be a true contender 2) JB needs to figure out the salary cap 3) if we go with a first and a prospect, I said HIGH level prospect, not some shmuck
  23. Cap floor teams who are strapped for cash would not mind LE as much as you think. Some owners are struggling and will have problems paying payroll and LE’s real money is low at this point, like a couple mill a year or something
