Just read this article and got a bit sad again when I read the part I pasted below the link https://theathletic.com/4119167/2023/01/23/bruce-boudreau-exclusive-canucks-firing/?amp=1 One high-profile player came into Boudreau’s office and was crying uncontrollably and audibly as he hugged him in front of assistants. On Sunday, Boudreau got a slew of texts from his players, including “the most beautiful text” from sometimes-maligned J.T. Miller.

No. Not easy at all. OEL contract - a lifetime Cap hit twice as much as it should be. He is realistically a 5/6 defender. Not a top 4. Myers - another Cap hit of being twice as much as it should be. The 2 above cemented top 4 defenders on this team are being paid way too much and not delivering anywhere near what they should be. 13.2M for two defenders that should be 5 and 6 on the depth chart. Other than QH, we have no competent defenders to fill out that top 4. Neither Myers or OEL are tradeable (maybe Myers will be this off-season with his bonus being paid out in July). The other big mess left behind is absolutely no picks and prospects in the system for futures or as trade chips. -

I think it will. I have faith in this management group to turn things around (unlike some other posters here). They are experts in their field and have had to deal with a big mess left behind by JB and the flat Cap. I’m sure they have a good idea now with what they have and what they need to do. Team’s surgery has just begun. There will be a lot more moves happening. Some will hurt at the moment but in the long run, it will be for the better. The team will play like a team again, we will learn defence and we will get new players on the roster, picks and futures. Darkness for now but there will be light in the future. -

Tocchet is being put in an impossible situation. Everyone loved BB. What does management want from this guy? A run? A continual tank? There are still almost 40 games to go! -

Heartbreaking. Players really wanted to win for him and didn’t want him gone. This shouldn’t have happened until the end of the season. -

No way. Just because we all love BB shouldn’t mean we just hate his replacement. That would be so childish -
