He appears to have matured far better, over-time, than “Tuna” did. I suspect one of the worst things possible for Jake’s development was NOT sending him out-of-town to play in Utica with other hungry progressing Pros, away from his local possee. Then again, maybe that wouldn’t have been enough or even mattered, regardless.
McCann seems to have developed some good sense between the ears & the wisdom to talk the talk, if not walk the walk, as a representative of his current NHL team. We shall see if he continues to haunt the Canucks as a pesky divisional player, for years to come.
But they did. He lost so much weight and matured a bit more when he went to Utica for a whole year. After he came back, he just fell back into his local possee.

New threads, new digits!
Ian Cole ➡️ #28
Carson Soucy ➡️ #7
Teddy Blueger ➡️ #53
I hope Ian Cole asked the Bourdon family whether he can wear it. I hope it isn't a Messier incident.

I'll reserve judgement until we see the next moves. The question is, does this management team have what it takes to pull it off?
Does this mean we're not moving Myers?
I can't see us re-signing Bear now that he needs shoulder surgery, they'll probably let him walk.
Welp, we're finally rebuilding the defense and that's exciting.
We have time before at need to decide whether to re-sign Bear since he is RFA

Forsling was a 5th round pick. Thats pretty normal I think no?
It's not being normal or not but you make it sound like he has been playing steadily in the NHL since age 20 which is not true. That was the point I was getting at.
-
To be fair, Forsling was a late bloomer. For Chatfield, the AHL coach didn't like him and didn't think he was good enough as whether the junior squad gets called up depends on the AHL coach. Therefore, the AHL coach at that time sucked but that is why he was fired eventually.

I haven't heard much about him and only know about him because of his wife.
He seems to have a great career for being a 7th rounder.

You know that we have been over 50% the past few games and quite a lot since Horvat was traded. The few times we dip below 50%, you had to make a comment lol

Seems a bit unfair to Bo as he seems to bring a lot of his presence and F/O to the team and with Barzal being injured, he doesnt'have a good player to play with.

When I see him mentioned anywhere, I always think of Jason Botchford screaming "BREEZEBOH!!!!" on TSN 1040. RIP Botch.
A solid, depth defender. He'll likely never get claimed on waivers so he's perfect for being a call up option/AHL leader when the Canucks need a d man in a pinch. I like the signing and I like the player.
Curious if they'll re-sign Wolanin and Burroughs soon. Those two guys are also excellent depth pieces and should be locked up well before July 1st rolls around.
I hope Wolanin and Burroughs as Wolanin brings a bit of an offensive flair and Burroughs brings toughness. Breezy is just a stable stay at home defencemen but just based on last night's game, he needs some work on the offensive side.

Tonight marks the second of four meetings between the Canucks and Blues this season: Oct. 27 (5-4 W @ SEA), Dec. 22 (home), Jan. 25 (away), Apr. 4 (home).
Was this a typo? In any event, thanks man for setting this up!
Go Canucks go!

Got to wonder what Bear's next contract looks like, you'd hope if he keeps up this play he'll re-sign with us but he could command a fair bit and we're going to be tight for cap space. It'd be nice if he signs a 3-4M deal but to be fair, he's playing as our top right handed defenceman and scoring some points too, around a 30 point pace and 20+ minutes while being a solid + player on a dreadfully minus team (although the PK obviously affects that a lot). A bridge contract, say 2-3 years at 3.5M would be ideal.
the PK doesn't affect the minus thou

Martin has a better GAA and SV% than Demko - no need to quote it just a fact. Stop it.
Barely..but you are saying like he is the saviour...Come on man...please stop and actually watch the games. I never knew winning 8-6 is saying you have an excellent goalie?

Under Martin 4 - 1 - 1
Under Demko 2 - 9 - 2
Same defense. Better goaltending and the team is above .500.
Now are we a contender? No. But we are not this bad if Demko was anything other than terrible.
If we had decent goaltending and were sitting above .500 the conversation would be we need to make a couple of moves to replace Myers and add another top 4 D and we would feel pretty good about things.
The way it is - with Demko so terrible - it makes the D look absolutely horrible and magnifies the problem 10 fold.
LOL..wow...this post. I love how this poster removes the more important stat of the goalies (e.g. GAA and Save %)

If there was a clear direction and plan and a young team full of hardworking players?
Absolutely! At this point that’s all I want.
Would you not rather watch a team like Montreal right now? I know I would.
To be honest, I rather even watch Ottawa over the Canucks. Ottawa has a good young team with some veterans.

That was before my time. But at least the Canucks had competent D back then.
If you are saying turnover king Pizza and Jovo Cop are competent, then i think you have mistaken our team's D..haha
